We are looking for a charismatic, credible, and dynamic Punjabi News Anchor to lead our daily broadcasts, breaking news bulletins, and digital news segments from our Mohali studio. In this role, you will be the primary on-screen face of our newsroom, delivering timely, balanced, and engaging coverage tailored to local audiences as well as global diaspora viewers.
The ideal candidate possesses native-level command of Punjabi with strong professional fluency in English, enabling seamless bilingual reporting, high-profile interviews, and cross-border story delivery.
Key Responsibilities
On-Air Presentation: Deliver daily live and recorded news bulletins, explainer formats, and special reports in Punjabi with authority, clarity, and poise.
Bilingual Reporting & Interviews: Conduct compelling interviews with subject matter experts, community leaders, and industry figures in both Punjabi and English.
Editorial & Script Review: Research, fact-check, and review news scripts prior to production; adapt scripts quickly to accommodate breaking news and live developments.
Newsroom Collaboration: Partner closely with producers, video editors, field reporters, and creative directors to ensure seamless studio workflows and high visual quality.
Fact Verification & Ethics: Uphold the highest journalistic standards of neutrality, objectivity, and accuracy across all platforms.
Digital & Social Formats: Adapt core reporting into vertical videos, reels, and digital snippets optimized for LinkedIn, YouTube, and other digital channels.
Qualifications & Requirements
Language Fluency: Native or professional proficiency in Punjabi (spoken and written); strong fluency in English is highly desired.
Broadcasting & Presentation: Proven on-camera presence with crisp diction, confidence, and audience engagement skills.
Journalistic Rigor: Solid understanding of broadcast journalism standards, news writing, media ethics, and news verification practices.
Composure Under Pressure: Ability to handle breaking news, read teleprompters smoothly, and pivot quickly during unscripted studio situations.
Education & Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Journalism, Mass Communication, Media Studies, or equivalent professional experience. Prior newsroom, TV, or digital broadcast experience is preferred.
Format Versatility: Familiarity with digital-first news delivery and short-form video engagement strategies.

A modern, high-tech studio environment with professional-grade broadcast infrastructure.
Direct exposure to international news distribution across North America and India.
