Role Description The Network, Security & IPPBX Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Mysore - BNPM SITE. This role is responsible for configuring, monitoring, and maintaining network infrastructure, security solutions, and IPPBX systems to ensure reliable and secure communication services. Daily tasks include managing firewalls, VPNs, switches, and routers; performing regular security checks; and applying patches and updates to network and security devices. The administrator will troubleshoot network and voice-related issues, respond to incidents, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams to resolve problems promptly. The role also involves maintaining documentation, monitoring performance, implementing best practices for cybersecurity and information security, and supporting continuous improvement of the overall IT environment.
Qualifications
B. Tech/B.E./BSc. (IT/CS)/BCA :> Minimum 03 years of experience as a Network & Firewall administration and possess Certification with CCNA/CCNP with good communication skills.
or
Diploma with Minimum 05 years of experience as a Network & Firewall administration and possess certification with CCNA/CCNP.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Ability to identify problems and issues (technical, process & people) encountered and highlight to team leads and BNPMIPL IT Staff.
- All necessary Hardware/Software support for implementation of configuration changes in routing, trunking, VLAN, stacking of network devices, port security, storm control, STP, NAT, routing protocols, ACL, QoS on network devices
- Configuration & Management of network hardware such as Gateway, Router and switches.
- Hands on experience on Data Centre network management along with various network issues.
- Firmware upgradation along with preventive & reactive maintenance for Firewall & Gateway.
- Update firewall policies based on the latest security best practices and compliance requirements.
- Perform validation of the firewall rules, Configure & Implement VPN tunnel for MFA implementation, Reviewing and implementing changes to access control lists and Recommending solutions regarding issues of data level security in support of business objectives.
- Troubleshooting Network security incidents.
- Identifying root cause of incidents and making appropriate recommendation to avoid future failure.
- Knowledge & experience in Configuration & Management of Firewall & its Administration.
- Perform Log management & validation from Centralized log management tools.
- Active support in Cyber Audit & Log analysis.
- Liaison with IPPBX OEM for support and any problem fixing issues.
- Troubleshooting of telephone & network related issues.
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Network Administration and Troubleshooting for switches, routers, firewalls, and IPPBX systems.
- Candidates should possess skills in Network Security and Cybersecurity, including firewall management, VPN configuration, intrusion detection/prevention, and secure network design.
- Candidates should possess skills in Information Security, including access control, data protection practices, and adherence to security policies and compliance standards.
- Relevant experience with IPPBX/VoIP platforms, SIP trunking, call routing, and voice quality monitoring is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electronics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Professional certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, CompTIA Security+, CEH, or similar are an advantage.
- Ability to analyze and resolve complex technical issues, document solutions, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Willingness to work on-site in Mysore and support occasional after-hours maintenance or incident response as needed.Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
- ability to explain simple procedures in writing or verbally; good phone skills and to write documentation.
