The Role
We’re looking for a technically proficient and detail-oriented Naval Architect to support our marine design and engineering projects. This role involves assisting in complex naval architectural calculations, executing design and modeling tasks, and working closely with Project Managers to ensure timely and accurate project deliverables. Responsibilities
- Assist the Project Manager in performing all core design calculations related to naval architecture, including:
- Intact and damage stability assessments
- Towing and bollard pull calculations
- Sea fastening calculations
- Rule-based scantling checks per Classification Society guidelines
- Establishing Stability and Longitudinal Strength Logics for Loading Software assessment.
- Conduct detailed hull form design, seakeeping analysis, mooring calculations, and dynamic positioning (DP) capability analysis
- Develop concept designs for vessel conversion feasibility and upgrade studies
- Execute detailed design and 3D modeling of marine and offshore structures
- Prepare and review technical drawings, reports, and engineering documentation to support project delivery
What You’ll Need
Experience:
- 2–5 years of relevant experience in naval architecture or marine structural design
- Exposure to offshore vessel projects, stability assessments, and structural modeling
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering
Tools & Software Proficiency:
- Familiarity with marine design software (e.g., Maxsurf, GHS, Rhino, AutoCAD)
- Working knowledge of analysis tools such as FEA/CFD tools is a plus
Skills & Competencies:
- Sound understanding of naval architecture fundamentals and classification requirements
- Strong technical documentation and drawing interpretation skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
- Good communication skills and attention to engineering detail
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset and willingness to learn
