healthcare partners, government systems, hospitals, and community-based programs.
The Finance Officer will play an important role in ensuring that financial systems are
transparent, accurate, compliant, and responsive to the needs of these programs.
Position Summary
CURE India is looking for a high-integrity, committed and experienced Finance Officer
with minimum 5 years of relevant experience to manage and coordinate the financial
operations of multiple projects under a national program.
The position will be based at the CURE India national office in South Delhi and will work
closely with state program coordinators, project teams, senior management, auditors,
donors, banks, and other stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical knowledge of Tally, accounting, bank
reconciliation, project finance management, budgeting, financial reporting and FCRA
compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Finance Management
- Manage financial operations for multiple national and state-level projects.
- Maintain accurate project-wise income, expenditure and fund utilization records.
- Monitor project budgets against actual expenditure and identify variances.
- Ensure that expenditure is incurred within approved project budgets and organizational
policies.
- Coordinate with State Program Coordinators to ensure timely submission of financial
information and supporting documents.
- Track project advances, settlements, outstanding balances and fund requirements.
- Prepare regular project-wise financial statements and management reports.- Support project teams in financial planning and budgeting.
2. Accounting & Tally
- Maintain accurate accounting records in Tally and other financial systems used by
CURE India.
- Ensure timely recording and classification of all financial transactions.
- Maintain project-wise and state-wise accounting records.
- Verify bills, vouchers, invoices and supporting documentation.
- Ensure proper accounting treatment and documentation of expenses.
- Maintain ledgers, journals, payment records and other financial documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing activities.
3. Bank Reconciliation
- Conduct regular bank reconciliations for organizational and project accounts.
- Identify and resolve unreconciled transactions promptly.
- Monitor bank transactions, transfers, deposits and payments.
- Maintain proper documentation and reconciliation records.
- Coordinate with state teams and banks whenever clarification or correction is required.
4. FCRA Compliance
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of FCRA rules, regulations and compliance
requirements applicable to the organization.
- Ensure that FCRA-related transactions are properly recorded, documented and
reported.
- Monitor utilization of foreign contribution funds against approved purposes and
budgets.
- Maintain appropriate records and supporting documentation for FCRA-funded projects.
- Assist with FCRA reporting, audits and regulatory requirements.
- Keep management informed of relevant compliance requirements and potential risks.
5. Budgeting & Financial Monitoring
- Assist in preparation of annual organizational and project budgets.
- Review state-wise and project-wise budgets.
- Monitor budget utilization and identify significant variances.
- Provide financial inputs to program teams for planning and decision-making.
- Prepare variance analysis and highlight areas requiring management attention.
- Support financial forecasting and cash-flow planning.
6. State-Level Coordination
- Serve as the key finance coordination point between the Delhi national office and state
teams.- Work closely with State Program Coordinators to ensure timely financial reporting.
- Follow up on pending bills, advances, utilization certificates, reconciliations and other
financial documentation.
- Establish clear and consistent financial processes across states.
- Provide guidance to state teams on financial procedures, documentation and
compliance.
- Coordinate with teams working in different cultural, linguistic and geographical
environments.
7. Audit & Compliance
- Support internal, statutory, donor and project audits.
- Prepare schedules, documents and supporting information required by auditors.
- Ensure that financial records are complete, accurate and readily accessible.
- Track audit observations and support timely corrective action.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to organizational financial
policies.
8. Donor & Project Reporting
- Support preparation of donor financial reports and utilization statements.
- Ensure donor-funded expenditure is properly documented and accurately reported.
- Coordinate with program teams to reconcile financial and programmatic information.
- Ensure financial reports are submitted within agreed deadlines.
- Maintain organized project and donor financial files.
9. Internal Controls & Financial Integrity
- Strengthen financial controls across national and state operations.
- Identify potential financial risks and bring them to the attention of management.
- Ensure appropriate authorization and documentation for expenditure.
- Maintain strict confidentiality of financial and organizational information.
- Promote a culture of transparency, accountability and responsible use of funds.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Essential
- Bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
- 5–7 years of relevant professional experience in finance/accounting.
- Strong hands-on experience with Tally.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial procedures.
- Proven experience in bank reconciliation.
- Experience managing finances for multiple projects.
- Practical understanding of FCRA rules, regulations and compliance.- Experience working with NGOs, development organizations, CSR programs or donor-
funded projects is highly desirable.
- Strong Excel/MS Office skills.
- Experience coordinating financial information across multiple locations or states.
Desirable
- CA Inter / CMA Inter / M. Com or equivalent professional qualification.
- Experience in a national NGO or multi-state development program.
- Experience handling donor-funded projects.
- Experience with statutory, donor and FCRA audits.
- Familiarity with government-funded or externally funded development programs.
