Job Description – MEP Billing & Quantity Surveyor
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of MEP billing procedures, quantity surveying, and project documentation.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and quantity estimation/billing software.
- Sound understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems, materials, specifications, and installation methods.
- Familiarity with BOQ preparation, rate analysis, measurement standards, and contract administration.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple project billings simultaneously.
Qualification
- B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, or Civil Engineering with relevant MEP billing/QS experience may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities
1. Billing & Quantity Surveying
- Prepare client and subcontractor bills for MEP works as per approved drawings, BOQ, work orders, and contract terms.
- Verify quantities executed at site for Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing works through site measurements and approved drawings.
- Prepare measurement sheets, quantity abstracts, and billing documentation for all MEP activities.
- Ensure timely preparation, submission, and certification of Running Account (RA) Bills, variation claims, and final bills.
- Evaluate subcontractor bills and certify quantities based on executed work.
- Track variations, extra items, and change orders, ensuring proper documentation and client approvals.
2. Cost Control & Estimation
- Monitor project costs against approved BOQs and budgets.
- Prepare quantity take-offs, rate analysis, and cost estimates for additional or revised works.
- Assist in budget monitoring, cost reconciliation, and forecasting.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities while maintaining project quality and compliance.
3. Coordination & Reporting
- Coordinate with MEP site engineers, project managers, consultants, and clients for joint measurements and billing approvals.
- Ensure billing documents are complete, accurate, and compliant with contractual obligations.
- Prepare MIS reports on billing status, project cash flow, cost variance, and pending certifications.
- Maintain records of approved drawings, work orders, measurement sheets, and billing correspondence.
4. Quality & Compliance
- Ensure all billing and quantity surveying activities comply with project specifications, company policies, and contractual requirements.
- Maintain proper documentation and filing of billing records, approvals, variation orders, and payment certifications.
- Support internal and external audits by providing complete billing and commercial documentation.
- Ensure compliance with applicable quality standards, safety procedures, and statutory requirements.
