Role Description The Mechanical Technician role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. The technician will install, assemble, and maintain mechanical components and automation equipment, including machines, conveyors, and related systems. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing routine inspections, troubleshooting mechanical issues, replacing worn parts, and ensuring safe and efficient operation of equipment. The role involves reading and interpreting mechanical drawings, collaborating with engineers and electricians during projects, and documenting maintenance activities and repair work. The technician will also support continuous improvement initiatives by suggesting mechanical upgrades and helping implement process improvements on the shop floor.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude with hands-on experience in installation, assembly, and maintenance of industrial or automation equipment.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Knowledge of basic tools, measuring instruments, and mechanical fasteners; familiarity with safety standards and best practices.
- Experience with preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for mechanical systems.
- Relevant technical diploma or certification in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial Maintenance, or equivalent practical experience.
- Good communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams on the shop floor.
- Comfort working in an on-site manufacturing environment, with flexibility to support shifts or overtime when required.
- Prior exposure to automation systems or manufacturing processes in a production setting is an advantage.
