Role Description This full-time, on-site Mechanical Design Engineer role is based in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area. The person in this role will design and develop conveyor systems and related mechanical components, prepare detailed 3D models and 2D drawings, and ensure designs meet performance, safety, and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include collaborating with sales and project teams to understand client requirements, selecting suitable materials and components, and performing basic calculations for strength, load, and motion. The Mechanical Design Engineer will also support manufacturing and installation teams with design clarifications, participate in design reviews and cost optimization, and assist in documentation, BOM preparation, and continuous improvement of existing products.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical design skills, including experience with 3D CAD software (e.g., Solid Edge, AutoCAD) and creation of detailed engineering drawings.
- Knowledge of mechanical components, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to conveyor systems and industrial automation.
- Ability to perform basic engineering calculations related to strength, load, motion, and tolerance to validate design concepts.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (sales, production, installation) and providing clear technical communication and documentation.
- Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Prior experience in conveyor design, material-handling equipment, or industrial machinery is an advantage.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to work on-site in the Pune/Pimpri-Chinchwad area and occasionally visit customer or vendor locations as needed.
