Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Kolkata. The engineer will be responsible for designing mechanical components and assemblies for electrical and automation panels, ensuring structural integrity, manufacturability, and alignment with project specifications and industry standards. Day-to-day tasks include creating and revising detailed CAD models and drawings, collaborating with electrical and automation engineering teams, and supporting the manufacturing and testing teams with design clarifications and improvements. The role involves participating in design reviews, optimizing designs for cost and performance, and maintaining accurate documentation throughout the product lifecycle. The engineer will also contribute to continuous improvement initiatives, support customization for client projects, and assist in resolving design-related issues during production and commissioning.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering skills, with a solid understanding of engineering principles and standards.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Machine Design and Product Design to develop reliable, efficient, and manufacturable mechanical solutions.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for 2D drafting and 3D modeling, preferably using industry-standard software.
- Relevant qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline, and experience in industrial or panel-related mechanical design.
- Additional beneficial skills include familiarity with manufacturing processes, material selection, tolerance analysis, and basic knowledge of electrical and automation systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, effective communication, and the capacity to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams are highly valued.
