Role Description The Marine & Offshore EIT Design Engineer is a full-time, on-site role based in Kozhikode. The engineer will be responsible for developing electrical, instrumentation, and telecom (EIT) designs for marine and offshore projects, including preparing layouts, schematics, cable routing, and equipment specifications. Daily tasks include reviewing project requirements, performing calculations, coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams, and ensuring designs comply with applicable standards and client specifications. The role involves preparing technical documentation, supporting material take-offs, assisting in vendor and equipment evaluations, and participating in design reviews. The engineer will also support project execution by addressing technical queries, resolving design issues, and contributing to continuous improvement of EIT engineering practices.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in electrical, instrumentation, and telecom engineering for marine and offshore applications, including familiarity with relevant codes and standards.
- Proficiency in CAD and engineering design tools for creating EIT layouts, schematics, and 3D/2D drawings.
- Ability to interpret technical specifications, perform basic engineering calculations, and prepare detailed technical documentation.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with multidisciplinary teams and interface with clients and suppliers.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Instrumentation, or a related engineering discipline; marine/offshore specialization is an advantage.
- Understanding of project execution workflows, material take-offs, and engineering deliverables in offshore and marine projects.
- Attention to detail, strong problem-solving mindset, and commitment to safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Prior internship or work experience in marine, offshore, oil & gas, or shipbuilding environments is beneficial.
