Position Overview:
The Manager – Specification Engineering will play a pivotal role in driving
standardization, technical development, and knowledge dissemination within the
organization. The role involves active participation in drafting national standards,
coordinating RDI initiatives, supporting inclusion of company products and technologies in
various institutional Schedules of Rates (SoRs), and contributing to training and capability-
building programs. The position requires a sound understanding of geotechnical engineering
principles, along with excellent communication and coordination skills.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Code and Specification Development:
o Assist in drafting and reviewing specifications, codes, and guidelines for BIS,
IRC, RDSO, MORTH, and other relevant standardization bodies.
o Prepare technical inputs, justifications, and documentation for submission to
committees and working groups.
o Coordinate with internal technical teams, industry experts, and government
officials for the formulation and revision of standards.
2. Research & Development (R&D) Collaboration:
o Plan, coordinate, and execute R&D projects in collaboration with premier
academic and research institutes.
o Facilitate data collection, field trials, and technical evaluation to support new
product development or application validation.
o Document R&D outcomes and translate findings into technical guidelines,
research and conference papers, and standardization proposals.
3. Specification and SoR Support:
o Work closely with territory managers to enable the inclusion of company
products, systems, and technologies in Schedules of Rates (SoRs) of central
and state organizations.
o Develop technical write-ups, case studies, and presentations for submission
to authorities and consultants.
o Maintain an updated database of SoRs, and relevant institutional approvals.
4. Training and Development:
o Contribute to the design and execution of training programs for internal team.
o Prepare and deliver technical presentations, learning materials, and e-
learning content.
o Support knowledge management initiatives and promote technical
excellence across the organization.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
• Educational Qualification: M.Tech in Geotechnical Engineering.
• Preferred Qualification: PhD in Geotechnical Engineering with research area in
reinforced earth structures and Geosynthetics.
• Experience: Post MTech 8-10 Years or Post PhD 3-4 Years.
• Preferred Exposure: Interaction with BIS, IRC, MORTH, RDSO, or similar bodies;
experience in technical documentation and standardization processes.
Key Skills and Competencies:
• Strong technical writing and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with national infrastructure codes and guidelines.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and networking abilities.
• Passion for innovation, research, and sustainable engineering practices.
• Good number of research publications in reputed journals and conference
proceedings
