Manager – Research
Hurun India | Mumbai · Full-Time · On-site
Who We Are
Since 2012, Hurun India has been the definitive voice on India's wealth creators — the billionaires, the under-30 disruptors, the manufacturers and impact founders quietly rewriting the country's economic story. Our rankings don't just get read, they get quoted — by media, by policymakers, by the market itself.
We answer to one thing: independence. No rankings for sale. No sponsor influence. No shortcuts. That's not a compliance line — it's the entire business model.
The Role
We're looking for a research leader, not a research executor. Someone who can walk into a room of founders, family offices, or CXOs and command it — someone who treats a spreadsheet of net-worth data with the same rigor as a forensic auditor, and someone who can turn 500 data points into one insight that lands on a front page.
You'll own research end-to-end: designing the frameworks, building the questionnaires, chasing down and validating data most people can't access, and shaping raw numbers into the narratives that define India's rich lists and rankings.
What You'll Do
- Architect the research — build frameworks and questionnaires that get us data others can't
- Own data integrity — validate every number as if your name is on the report, because it is
- Go deep on sectors — market and competitive analysis that goes beyond the obvious
- Turn data into narrative — synthesize findings into insights sharp enough to drive headlines
- Run the room — present to editorial, business teams, and external stakeholders with authority
- Lead people — manage timelines, mentor junior researchers, raise the bar on the team
- Protect the brand — every output meets Hurun's non-negotiable standard: accurate, independent, credible
What You Bring
- A track record in research and market research — you know how to build a study, not just fill one out
- Analytical firepower — you can read a cap table, a balance sheet, and a messy dataset with equal fluency
- Questionnaire design skills that produce clean, reliable data, not noise
- The communication chops to present findings to a boardroom and make them listen
- A degree in Economics, Business, Statistics, Social Sciences, or related field
- Experience in wealth, financial, or business research — HNI or private company exposure is a strong plus
- Obsessive attention to detail and an unshakeable sense of integrity with sensitive data
- Command of spreadsheets and presentation tools; bonus points for stats/visualization tools
- The appetite to run multiple projects at once and lead a small team from the front
Why This Role
You won't be producing research nobody reads. You'll be building the numbers that define who India considers a nation builder — and the platform that puts them there first.
