About Us
Demolish Foods is reinventing meat for a planet-positive future. We believe people should not have to choose between the food they love, the health of the planet, and a more humane way of producing it. We are building a team of people who are genuinely motivated by that ambition.
We are developing plant-based whole-cut meat products across multiple species and cut formats, designed to deliver a compelling eating experience while reducing the environmental footprint and animal-welfare costs of conventional meat. Backed by investors with deep manufacturing expertise, we have commissioned our pilot line in Bangalore and are now scaling toward commercial launch.

Role Summary
We are looking for a Manager, Lab Ops & QA/QC to ensure Demolish Foods’ Bangalore lab and pilot operations run with discipline, cleanliness, preparedness, safety, documentation reliability, and quality-control rigour.
This is a hands-on, floor-facing role responsible for coordinating people, materials, equipment, samples, documentation, cleaning systems, and trial readiness across R&D and pilot activities. The role works closely with R&D, Engineering, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, and leadership to ensure trials, samples, and pilot work are executed smoothly and reliably.
This is a practical operating role for someone who enjoys making complex food processes run consistently in a fast-moving R&D and pilot environment.
Responsibilities
- Own daily lab and pilot operating discipline - Ensure equipment, materials, tools, work areas, utilities, samples, cleaning systems, documentation, and trial setups are ready for reliable day-to-day execution.
- Plan and coordinate R&D and pilot execution - Coordinate R&D trials, pilot runs, internal reviews, external testing, and customer-related sample activities so they are executed hygienically, safely, on time, and as per plan.
- Translate R&D needs into floor-level execution plans - Convert R&D requirements into daily tasks, work allocations, material staging plans, cleaning plans, trial-readiness checklists, and clear handoffs.
- Manage and guide lab, pilot, and support staff - Train, guide, and manage production associates nd support staff involved in lab and pilot operations.
- Build ownership culture across setup, execution, cleaning, and documentation - Ensure the team treats setup, execution, cleaning, reset, sample handling, documentation, and handoffs as core parts of operating responsibility.
- Ensure GMP, GHP, food safety, hygiene, and safe working practices - Drive consistent adherence to GMP, GHP, food safety, cleaning, sanitation, line clearance, sample labelling, contamination control, and safe working practices.
- Maintain SOP discipline and support SOP updates - Ensure SOPs, checklists, trackers, cleaning routines, hygiene routines, and trial records are followed during daily activities. Identify gaps between written procedures and actual floor execution, then support SOP updates, retraining, and communication as processes evolve.
- Manage materials, inventory, samples, and external dispatches - Manage inventory, material availability, expiry tracking, storage discipline, replenishment, material staging, sample preparation, labelling, retention, external testing dispatches, and customer sample readiness.
- Track equipment readiness, maintenance, calibration, and utilities - Monitor equipment readiness, downtime, maintenance needs, calibration status, utility issues, and follow-up actions with engineering, internal teams, and external service providers.
- Maintain records and investigate execution gaps - Maintain clear trial records, batch records, cleaning logs, hygiene logs, deviation logs, sample records, equipment issue logs, quality records, and handoff notes. Investigate deviations, contamination risks, quality issues, weak handoffs, and documentation gaps, and support corrective actions with relevant teams.
- Support manufacturing scale-up - Convert Bangalore lab and pilot learnings into SOPs, checklists, hygiene practices, and operating controls that support manufacturing scale-up.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Engineering, Food Science, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Operations, Production Management, or a related field.
- 4 - 8 years of experience in food manufacturing, pilot plant operations, R&D lab operations, QA/QC, production, manufacturing operations, technical lab management, or scale-up environments.
- Hands-on experience with lab discipline, sample preparation, hygiene, materials, equipment readiness, cleaning routines, batch documentation, and daily execution.
- Experience supporting pilot-scale food processing, small-batch production, R&D trials, batch records, cleaning systems, yield tracking, deviations, or production-style documentation.
- Hands-on experience with GMP, GHP, HACCP, cleaning and sanitation systems, SOPs, batch records, traceability, and basic food safety practices.
- Strong understanding of process hygiene, contamination prevention, cleaning verification, material handling, storage requirements, sample labelling, and operational documentation.

- Ability to coordinate with R&D, Production, Quality, Supply Chain, Engineering, external labs, and service providers.
- Strong organisational skills, practical problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and willingness to enforce operating discipline consistently.
- Comfortable working hands-on on the floor in a fast-moving environment while maintaining cleanliness, order, safety, documentation discipline, and reliability.
- Good working knowledge of Google Sheets, Excel, digital records, or similar tools for tracking operations and quality data.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Strong alignment with Demolish Foods’ mission and willingness to help build a safer, kinder, and more sustainable food system.
