ROLE SUMMARY
Elocity is seeking an experienced finance leader — engaged as Manager Finance or Senior Manager Finance depending on the candidate's level of experience — to lead the company's finance function end-to-end: accounting, financial reporting, controls, statutory compliance, treasury, and investor relations. Based remotely in India, this role reports directly to the CEO/CFO and carries functional responsibility spanning Elocity's Canada (Toronto HQ) and India entities. The successful candidate will function as Elocity's senior-most finance leader below the CEO, with significant ownership of investor- and board-facing financial communication and a mandate to build out formal finance infrastructure as the company scales.
Final designation (Manager Finance or Senior Manager Finance) will be determined based on the selected candidate's experience and demonstrated seniority.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Finance Function Leadership
- Lead and own the Finance function of Elocity, Canada and Elocity, India, setting policies, controls, and reporting cadence across both entities
- - Build and manage the finance team, including hiring, mentoring, and performance management as the function scales
- - Serve as the primary finance point of contact for the Founder & CEO on all financial matters
- - Design and maintain finance SOPs, delegation of authority, and approval workflows appropriate to a scaling, investor-funded company
Investor Relations & Board Reporting
- Own investor relations from a finance standpoint, serving as the primary point of contact for investor financial queries, due diligence requests, and reporting obligations under shareholder/investment agreements
- - Prepare and present monthly and quarterly investor and board reporting packages, including financial statements, KPI dashboards, cash-runway and burn-rate analysis, and variance commentary
- - Lead financial workstreams for fundraising rounds, including data-room preparation, financial-model maintenance, and coordination with legal counsel on cap table and share issuance matters
- - Draft investor updates and board materials in coordination with the Founder & CEO
- - Track covenant compliance and reporting deadlines under existing shareholder and loan agreements
Financial Reporting & MIS
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process across all Elocity entities
- - Prepare and review financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards (ASPE/IFRS in Canada; Ind AS in India)
- - Manage multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation (CAD/INR) and intercompany transactions, including transfer-pricing cost-base considerations
- - Own budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling in coordination with the Founder & CEO and leadership team
- - Maintain the general ledger, chart of accounts, and fixed asset register across entities
Statutory Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure timely statutory compliance in India (GST, TDS/TCS, advance tax, corporate income tax, tax audit, transfer pricing / Form 3CEB, MCA/ROC filings) and in Canada (T2, GST/HST, CRA remittances), working with external advisors as needed
- - Monitor FEMA/RBI compliance requirements for cross-border transactions
- - Track regulatory and tax-law developments across jurisdictions and update internal policy accordingly
Audit & Assurance
- Design and maintain internal financial controls and ensure audit readiness across entities
- - Lead the annual statutory audit process and coordinate any additional regulatory or investor-driven audits
- - Support due diligence exercises for financing, partnership, or strategic transactions
Treasury, Banking & Payroll Compliance
- Oversee treasury operations, banking relationships, and cash-flow management across entities
- - Ensure statutory payroll compliance (PF/ESI/Professional Tax in India; CPP/EI/EHT in Canada), coordinating closely with HR
- - Monitor compliance with loan or credit-facility covenants
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Professional accounting/finance qualification — Chartered Accountant with industry experience, or MBA (Finance) from a recognized institution
- - 4–15 years of progressive finance experience, including direct exposure to investor relations, fundraising support, or board reporting
- - Demonstrated experience owning a finance function end-to-end, ideally within a venture-backed or investor-funded company
- - Strong working knowledge of Indian statutory and accounting requirements (Ind AS, GST, TDS); familiarity with Canadian standards (ASPE/IFRS) and cross-border structures is a strong asset
- - Experience with multi-entity, multi-currency consolidation and intercompany accounting
- - Strong financial modeling and advanced Excel skills
- - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience preparing investor- and board-facing materials
- - Ability to work remotely with disciplined, self-directed execution, and availability to overlap with Canada working hours as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience in a technology, hardware, or clean technology / electric vehicle charging industry
- - Preference will be given to candidates with prior startup experience
- - Prior experience supporting fundraising rounds (equity or debt) or managing an investor data room
- - Exposure to cap table management, ESOP administration, or FEMA/RBI cross-border compliance
- - Experience operating in a scaling, high-growth, multi-country organization
