Key Responsibilities
- Build, maintain, and stress-test cost models for each international market and channel (Amazon UAE, Noon, Namshi, Amazon US, international retail, etc.). Know where margin leaks and where it compounds — by geography, by channel, by SKU if needed.
- Handle cross-border taxation and compliance — VAT (UAE/GCC), sales tax (US), withholding tax, transfer pricing basics, import duties, and export documentation. Know when to solve it yourself and when to brief an external tax advisor properly.
- Manage international distributor and marketplace financial reconciliation — receivables, deductions, chargebacks, co-op spends, and payment cycles across geographies and currencies.
- Own FX exposure tracking and currency impact on margins.
- Support leadership with data-backed financial decision-making: new market entry feasibility, channel economics comparison, SKU selection for international assortments, and distributor deal structuring.
- Coordinate with international logistics, warehousing, and 3PL partners on cost optimization.
- Sales Accounting from Partner portal to ERP.
- Liaise with external CAs, auditors, legal counsel, and banking partners across jurisdictions. Own these relationships.
What You Bring
- 3–5 years of experience in finance, ideally with exposure to international markets, cross-border commerce, or export-oriented businesses. FMCG, D2C, beauty, or consumer brands preferred. CA, Inter CA, CMA preferred.
- Strong working knowledge of P&L structures, cost accounting, and margin analysis — specifically in the context of international operations where landed cost, duties, and FX add complexity.
- Hands-on experience with e-commerce financials across international marketplaces — fee structures, ad spend allocation, logistics cost models, platform-specific deductions.
- Understanding of international tax frameworks — at minimum VAT (GCC), US sales tax basics, import/export duties, and cross-border compliance.
- Advanced Excel / Google Sheets — multi-currency financial models, scenario analysis, pivot tables. ERP familiarity is a plus.
- Comfortable working across time zones and with international partners, distributors, and marketplace teams.
GOOD TO HAVE
- Direct experience with Middle East e-commerce and retail — Noon, Amazon UAE, Namshi, physical retail distribution in GCC.
- Exposure to US market financials — Amazon US fee structures, 3PL cost models, sales tax nexus.
- Experience setting up international financial reporting and processes from scratch — not inheriting a mature system.
- Working knowledge of transfer pricing, intercompany transactions, or multi-entity financial structures. Skills: finance + accounting, taxation, international finance, vat
