Role Description The Mainframe Tester role at Jobstex is a full-time, on-site position based in Madhya Pradesh, India. This role involves designing and executing test cases for mainframe applications, validating system functionality, and ensuring compliance with business and technical requirements. The Mainframe Tester will analyze defects, document test results, and collaborate closely with developers, business analysts, and project managers to resolve issues and improve software quality. Daily responsibilities include reviewing requirements, preparing test data, performing regression and functional testing, and contributing to test planning and reporting activities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills in Software Quality and Software Quality Assurance to ensure robust and reliable mainframe applications.
- Candidates should possess strong Analytical Skills to interpret requirements, identify defects, and troubleshoot complex system issues.
- Candidates should possess solid Quality Assurance and Test Management skills to plan, execute, and track testing activities effectively.
- Experience in mainframe environments (e.g., COBOL, JCL, DB2, CICS) and familiarity with test tools and defect tracking systems are beneficial.
- A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience, is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams are essential.
- Experience with structured testing methodologies, documentation practices, and exposure to SDLC or Agile frameworks is an advantage.
