Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain mainframe applications using COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Analyze and understand business requirements related to life insurance, translating them into technical specifications and solutions.
- Perform system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation of applications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, project managers, and QA teams, to ensure effective project delivery.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior developers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues in a timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulatory requirements in the life insurance domain.
- Participate in code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices and coding standards.
- Stay updated with the latest technologies and advancements in the mainframe and life insurance sectors.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in mainframe development with a focus on COBOL, JCL, CICS, and DB2.
- Proven experience working in the life insurance domain, with a solid understanding of life insurance products, processes, and regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with other mainframe technologies such as IMS, VSAM, and REXX.
- Knowledge of Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
- Familiarity with modern development tools and version control systems (e.g., Git).
