Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Loan Officer role based in Jamshedpur. The Loan Officer will meet and engage with prospective and existing customers, explain loan products, and guide applicants through the loan origination process. Daily responsibilities include assessing customer needs, collecting and verifying documentation, conducting preliminary underwriting checks, and ensuring accurate and timely loan processing. The role involves maintaining strong customer service standards, following internal policies and regulatory requirements, and collaborating with branch and credit teams to support portfolio quality. The Loan Officer will also monitor repayments, address customer queries, and support financial literacy and inclusion initiatives in the local community.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong skills and practical experience related to loan officer responsibilities and loan origination.
- Candidates should possess knowledge in finance and an understanding of credit principles, lending procedures, and basic financial analysis.
- Candidates should possess underwriting-related skills, including evaluating borrower eligibility, assessing risk, and reviewing documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Candidates should possess customer service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and maintain long-term client relationships.
- Minimum educational qualification: graduate degree in commerce, finance, business, economics, or a related field (relevant experience may be considered).
- Ability to work on-site in Jamshedpur, travel locally as required, and operate in field-based environments.
- Basic computer proficiency, including use of banking or loan management systems and MS Office tools.
- Prior experience in microfinance, banking, or retail lending is an advantage, along with familiarity with local languages and communities.
