Position Vacancies: Lab Technician (Design Studio & CAD/Workshop)
The Department of Mechanical Engineering and Design at Jaypee Institute of Information Technology (JIIT), Noida, invites applications from qualified and motivated candidates for multiple Lab Technician positions. We seek dynamic professionals to support our cutting-edge design studios and workshop facilities, ensuring excellent operational standards and student mentorship.
Position 1: Lab Technician – Design Studio
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Design (B. Des), Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), Master of Design (M.Des), or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Design or a related discipline
OR
Diploma in Design or a related discipline
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Design software proficiency (Figma, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, or similar tools)
- Hands-on prototyping and model-making experience (working knowledge of sun board, cardboard, thermocol, PU foam, MDF, etc.)
- 1–4 years of professional experience as lab staff or assistant in a design studio, laboratory, or workshop environment
- Proven ability to work effectively with Master of Design (M. Des) program students and support their learning outcomes
Position 2: Lab Technician – CAD Center and Workshop
Minimum Qualifications:
- Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- B. Tech or M. Tech in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
Key Competencies:
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and SolidWorks (or equivalent CAD software)
- Hands-on expertise with workshop machinery and tools
- 1–4 years of professional experience as lab staff or assistant in CAD/workshop environments
- Demonstrated ability to support and mentor students in laboratory settings
