š¢ Weāre hiring: Junior L1 Voice Support Engineer ā SIP, SBC and VoIP
HookZ India Private Limited is looking for a junior engineer with hands-on experience in SIP trunking, VoIP and enterprise voice environments.
š Location: Chennai or Thanjavur (Hybrid)

Essential requirement:
Candidates must have 1ā2 years of practical experience supporting or troubleshooting SIP trunks. Applications without relevant SIP trunking experience will not be considered.
Key responsibilities:
ā¢ Provide L1 support for AudioCodes and Ribbon SBCs, voice gateways and SIP infrastructure
ā¢ Monitor SBC health, alarms, availability and SIP trunk status
ā¢ Troubleshoot failed calls, one-way or no-way audio, call routing, codecs, DTMF and caller ID issues
ā¢ Review basic SIP traces, packet captures, SBC logs and call detail records
ā¢ Investigate network, DNS, NTP, firewall, NAT and TLS-related issues
ā¢ Support Microsoft Teams Direct Routing connectivity
ā¢ Record and manage incidents in line with SLA and escalation procedures
ā¢ Escalate complex issues to L2/L3 engineers with complete diagnostic information
ā¢ Assist with maintenance, configuration backups, upgrades and health checks
What weāre looking for:
ā¢ Diploma or bachelorās degree in Telecommunications, IT, Computer Science, Electronics or a related discipline
ā¢ 1ā2 years of hands-on SIP trunking experience
ā¢ Good understanding of SIP, SDP, RTP, TCP/UDP, TLS and VoIP call flows
ā¢ Basic knowledge of IP networking, VLANs, routing, NAT, DNS and firewalls
ā¢ Exposure to AudioCodes or Ribbon SBCs is strongly preferred
ā¢ Familiarity with Wireshark and SIP analysis tools
ā¢ Clear communication, documentation and troubleshooting skills
ā¢ Willingness to participate in shift or on-call support when required
Exposure to Microsoft Teams Direct Routing, Genesys Cloud, NICE CXone, Amazon Connect or Zoom Phone would be an advantage.
