Role Description The Junior Textile Designer will work full time on-site in Chennai, contributing to the development of fabric designs and product collections. Day-to-day responsibilities include assisting in the creation of textile prints and embroidery concepts, preparing design layouts, and adapting graphics to different fabrics and product formats. The role involves collaborating with senior designers and production teams to ensure designs are technically feasible and aligned with brand standards. The Junior Textile Designer will support sampling and color-way development, maintain design files and documentation, and help prepare presentations and mood boards for internal reviews. This position is suited for individuals looking to build a strong foundation in textile design within a professional export-oriented environment.
Qualifications
- Strong foundational skills in textile design, including Textiles and Textile Prints.
- Ability to create and adapt visual concepts using Graphics and Graphic Design.
- Knowledge of Embroidery techniques and the ability to design embroidery patterns.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and willingness to learn new tools.
- Diploma or degree in Textile Design, Fashion Design, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Attention to detail, good color sense, and an understanding of trends in textiles and home furnishings.
- Ability to follow design guidelines, work to deadlines, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Strong portfolio demonstrating textile or surface design work; internship or prior industry experience is an advantage.
