Role Description The Fashion Designer will work full time on-site in the Kadodara (Surat) Area, collaborating closely with production, merchandising, and sampling teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include conceptualizing and sketching new designs, selecting fabrics and trims, developing embroidery and surface ornamentation concepts, and ensuring accurate fittings and garment construction. The role involves creating detailed technical specifications for patterns, coordinating with tailors and artisans, and reviewing samples for quality and design consistency. The Fashion Designer will research trends and local market preferences, adapt global fashion influences to the company’s product lines, and support seasonal collections and special client orders. This position requires regular presence on the shop floor and design studio to oversee execution from concept to finished garment.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Fashion Design and Fashion skills, including sketching, concept development, and trend interpretation.
- Candidates should possess solid Textiles skills, including fabric selection, understanding of fiber properties, and knowledge of textile finishes.
- Candidates should possess practical Embroidery skills, with experience in surface ornamentation, motif development, and coordination with embroidery units.
- Candidates should possess Fitting skills, including garment drape evaluation, measurements, and the ability to refine patterns for comfort and style.
- Relevant qualifications such as a diploma or degree in Fashion Design, Textiles, Apparel Design, or a related field.
- Strong attention to detail, color and pattern sense, and the ability to work under production timelines.
- Effective collaboration skills with production, merchandising, and tailoring teams; ability to communicate design requirements clearly.
- Proficiency in basic design tools (manual or digital); knowledge of fashion CAD software is an advantage.
- Experience in Indian ethnic wear or regional fashion markets is preferred but not mandatory.
