Role Description This is a full-time Junior Lawyer role based in Kochi. The Junior Lawyer will assist in drafting and reviewing contracts, pleadings, legal notices, and opinions under the supervision of senior lawyers. Day-to-day responsibilities include legal research, case law analysis, preparing briefs and summaries, supporting case strategy development, and attending client meetings or hearings as required. The role also involves coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, organizing case files and documentation, and ensuring deadlines and compliance requirements are met. The position offers opportunities to build litigation and advisory experience, while developing strong professional judgment and communication skills.
Qualifications
- Solid foundation in core legal skills, including legal research, drafting, and interpretation of statutes and case law.
- Ability to prepare and review legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, affidavits, and legal opinions with attention to detail.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking abilities, with capacity to apply legal principles to practical scenarios.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for interacting with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Capability to manage multiple matters, organize documentation, and meet court, regulatory, and internal deadlines.
- Comfort working in a hybrid environment, with professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information.
- Bachelor’s degree in law (LLB or equivalent) from a recognized institution; enrollment with or eligibility to enroll with the Bar Council.
- Prior internships or 0–2 years of experience in litigation, corporate, or general practice are preferred but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with basic office software and legal research databases; willingness to learn new tools and technologies.
