Job Description: Junior Digital Illustrator (Weddings by Graphē)
As a Junior Digital Illustrator at Weddings by Graphē, you will play a key role in bringing wedding stories to life through detailed, expressive, and concept-driven illustrations. Your primary responsibility will be to develop high-quality digital assets that contribute to premium wedding invitations, stationery and visual narratives.
You will be involved in the *entire creative process from ideation to execution*, working closely with the weddings, design, and motion graphics teams to deliver visually compelling and emotionally resonant designs. This role requires strong illustration skills, conceptual thinking, time management, and the ability to handle projects with ownership and precision.
*Key Responsibilities*
*Illustration and Asset Development*
Develop a minimum of *4 to 6 detailed face portraits (caricatures)* on a daily basis for wedding invites and collaterals.
Digitally illustrate assets such as *caricatures, fashion illustrations, garments, backdrops, elements, icons and motifs* required across projects.
Ensure consistency in illustration style across all assets within a project.
Maintain high quality, detailing and accuracy in all illustrations.
*Conceptualisation and Design Process*
Ideate and conceptualise unique design directions for wedding invitations and collaterals.
Understand client briefs, preferences, and cultural context to create relevant visual narratives.
Develop *mood boards, element boards, colour palettes, and storyboards* to communicate concepts effectively.
Work collaboratively with teams to refine and execute approved concepts.
*Project Management and Client Servicing*
Handle smaller-budget or similar projects independently from *concept to execution*.
Coordinate with design, illustration, and animation teams to ensure timely asset development.
Compile all illustrated assets, integrate with text and layouts, and hand over to the animation team.
Ensure quality checks, timely delivery, and smooth project closure with feedback.
*Collaboration and Coordination*
Work closely with the weddings, design, and motion graphics teams to ensure seamless execution.
Collaborate with specialists for asset development where required, ensuring timely output.
Maintain clear communication across teams for efficient workflow.
*Research and Trend Awareness*
Continuously research and stay updated with *wedding trends, illustration styles, and design aesthetics*.
Apply trend insights to create fresh, relevant, and innovative concepts.
*Productivity and Time Management*
Ensure *daily productivity targets* are met with a focus on quality and detailing.
Efficiently manage time and resources to meet project deadlines.
Be adaptable and capable of handling pressure during peak wedding seasons.
*Brand and Marketing Support*
During off-season, contribute to *branding, packaging, and marketing illustration projects* for Graphē.
Develop creatives, assets, and mockups for *Weddings by Graphē’s website and social media*.
*Content and Social Media Participation*
Actively participate in *reels and content shoots* for social media as required.
Support the team in showcasing work through engaging visual content.
*Qualifications*
Proficiency in *Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Procreate*.
Strong portfolio showcasing *digital illustration, caricatures, and character design*.
Understanding of *composition, colour theory, and detailing*.
Basic understanding of *animation-ready design and file preparation*.
Strong organisational, time management, and communication skills.
Ability to take feedback positively and refine work accordingly.
