Job Overview
We are looking for an
IT Manager to manage and maintain the company’s complete IT infrastructure, hardware inventory, user access, security systems, and day-to-day IT operations.
The ideal candidate should be hands-on, organised, responsive, and comfortable managing both
IT infrastructure and end-user support. The role requires strong ownership of IT assets, security, procurement, onboarding/offboarding, and regular reporting to management.
Key Responsibilities
- IT Inventory & Asset Management
- Maintain complete IT hardware and equipment inventory using Snipe-IT.
- Ensure every laptop, desktop, monitor, networking device, accessory, and other IT asset is properly recorded.
- Manage IT asset check-in/check-out and maintain accurate ownership records.
- Record asset allocation, transfers, returns, repairs, replacements, and disposal.
- Conduct monthly physical inventory audits and reconcile them with Snipe-IT.
- Ensure there are no unaccounted or incorrectly assigned IT assets.
- Desktop Support & Troubleshooting
- Provide day-to-day technical support to employees for hardware, software, networking, and access-related issues.
- Troubleshoot laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, Wi-Fi, internet, peripherals, and other IT equipment.
- Manage and support Active Directory hosted on AWS using VPC and EC2.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, groups, devices, and access policies.
- Provide remote support when required.
- Ensure IT issues are resolved within defined timelines.
- IT Security
- Manage and monitor the company’s Sophos Firewall and Sophos XDR environment.
- Monitor endpoint security, alerts, policies, and potential security incidents.
- Manage BitLocker encryption across company devices.
- Ensure company laptops and desktops comply with security requirements.
- Maintain the ability to remotely disable/block devices or access when required, particularly for lost, stolen, or offboarded devices.
- Ensure security controls are consistently applied across all company systems.
- Network & Office Infrastructure
- Manage multiple internet connections and ensure reliable connectivity.
- Manage and troubleshoot office Wi-Fi Access Points (APs).
- Monitor network performance and resolve connectivity issues.
- Manage office networking equipment and coordinate with internet/network vendors.
- Maintain and troubleshoot biometric attendance machines and related systems.
- SaaS & IT Administration
Act as the primary administrator for company IT applications and platforms, including:
- Slack
- Google Workspace
- Microsoft 365
- Active Directory
- ManageEngine
- Other IT systems and SaaS platforms used by the company
Responsibilities Include
- User creation, modification, and deactivation.
- Access and permission management.
- Group and policy management.
- Licence management.
- Security configuration.
- Troubleshooting and administration.
- Ensuring access is removed promptly when employees leave.
- Employee Onboarding & Offboarding
Manage the complete IT lifecycle for employees.
Onboarding
- Create required accounts and access.
- Prepare and allocate laptops and other equipment.
- Configure devices and security policies.
- Provide required software and permissions.
- Record all allocated assets in Snipe-IT.
Offboarding
- Disable user accounts and access promptly.
- Revoke access to company systems.
- Secure or remotely disable company devices where required.
- Recover laptops, accessories, and other IT assets.
- Update Snipe-IT and confirm all company assets have been returned.
- Coordinate with HR and management to ensure the offboarding checklist is completed.
- IT Procurement & Vendor Management
- Identify and source IT hardware, software, licences, networking equipment, and services.
- Obtain at least 3 quotations for procurement wherever applicable.
- Evaluate vendors based on price, quality, warranty, support, and delivery timelines.
- Maintain a list of approved IT vendors.
- Negotiate with vendors to achieve competitive pricing.
- Coordinate purchasing, delivery, warranty claims, repairs, and replacements.
- Maintain proper procurement documentation.
- IT Audits & Compliance
- Conduct regular IT infrastructure and asset audits.
- Perform monthly inventory audits.
- Verify that physical assets match Snipe-IT records.
- Review user accounts and access periodically.
- Check device security, encryption, endpoint protection, and compliance.
- Identify and report gaps or risks to management.
- Ensure IT processes and documentation remain up to date.
- Reporting & Documentation
Provide regular visibility to management and relevant stakeholders.
Daily Reporting
- Major IT issues/incidents.
- Critical infrastructure or security alerts.
- Pending issues requiring management attention.
- Procurement or operational blockers.
Weekly Reporting
- IT support/issues summary.
- Asset movements.
- New equipment purchased.
- Onboarding/offboarding status.
- Security/infrastructure issues.
- Outstanding IT tasks and risks.
Monthly Reporting
- Inventory audit results.
- Asset discrepancies.
- IT procurement summary.
- Security and infrastructure review.
- Licences and subscriptions.
- Major incidents and resolutions.
- Recommendations and improvement areas.
- Proactive IT Management
- Actively monitor the company’s IT environment rather than only responding when something breaks.
- Identify potential hardware, software, security, or network problems before they impact employees.
- Maintain proper documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Keep IT assets, systems, and records organised and up to date.
- Continuously identify opportunities to improve IT security, reliability, efficiency, and cost.
Key Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in IT administration, IT support, or IT infrastructure management.
- Strong hands-on troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with Active Directory.
- Experience managing AWS EC2/VPC-based infrastructure is preferred.
- Experience with Sophos Firewall and XDR.
- Experience with endpoint security and BitLocker.
- Experience administering Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365.
- Experience with Slack and other SaaS administration.
- Experience with IT asset management systems; Snipe-IT experience is preferred.
- Experience managing office networks, Wi-Fi, internet connections, and access points.
- Experience with IT procurement and vendor management.
- Strong understanding of IT security best practices.
- Good documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to work independently and take complete ownership of IT operations.

- Procurement follows the required quotation and approval process.
- Daily and weekly IT reporting is maintained.
- Management always has clear visibility of IT assets, issues, risks, and pending actions.

This is not a role where the IT Manager waits for employees to report problems. The person should proactively monitor systems, identify risks, follow up on outstanding issues, maintain accurate records, and continuously ensure that the company’s IT environment is secure, organised, and operational.
