Role purpose: Ensure the right components are available for production and R&D, stock records are accurate, and every customer order ships on time, correctly documented and at optimal cost.
Key responsibilities
Inventory and stores management
• Lead inward of electronic components, PCBs and packing material: GRN, quantity and part-number checks, IQC handover and timely posting in Tally/ERP.
• Manage storage of components per ESD, MSL and FIFO norms, with clear bin locations and labelling.
• Plan and supervise kitting of components and PCB boards against production work orders and BOMs.
• Issue and distribute components to the EMS and R&D teams; resolve component shortages, substitutions and mismatches with R&D and purchase.
• Maintain accurate stock records; run cycle counts, monthly stock audits and the annual physical verification, and reconcile variances.
• Track stock levels, reorder points and slow-moving, non-moving and obsolete (SLOB) items; raise timely material requirements to purchase.
• Manage rejections, returns to vendor and scrap as per company process.
Dispatch and logistics
• Plan daily and weekly dispatch schedules in line with sales orders and production output.
• Oversee packing, labelling and loading of finished devices to prevent transit damage.
• Oversee domestic shipments & exports documentations.
• Ensure accurate invoices, delivery challans, e-way bills and other dispatch documents, in coordination with accounts.
• Select and manage transporters and courier partners; negotiate freight rates and monitor their performance.
• Track shipments and keep customers and the sales team updated on order status.
• Handle customer returns, RMA and replacement shipments, and resolve delays, damages and discrepancies.
Team, systems and compliance
• Lead, train and allocate work to inventory, dispatch and store staff.
• Own billing reconciliation and inventory-related accounting entries with the accounts team.
• Publish MIS reports in Excel: stock position, inventory ageing, dispatch status and freight cost.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, GST and logistics regulations, ISO/IATF documentation, and audit requirements.
• Drive improvements such as barcode/scan-based tracking, 5S in stores and process SOPs.
KRAs and KPIs
Performance is measured on seven KRAs, weighted to 100%. Targets are starting benchmarks to be calibrated against current baselines in the first quarter.
Qualifications and skills
Education
• Graduate in Commerce, Engineering (Electronics preferred), or a related field.
• MBA or diploma in Supply Chain, Logistics or Materials Management is an advantage.
Experience
• 8–12 years in stores, inventory and dispatch, preferably in electronics manufacturing, EMS or automotive.
• Hands-on knowledge of electronic components, PCB boards and kitting.
• At least 3 years managing a stores or logistics team.
Skills
• Strong working knowledge of Tally/ERP and inventory accounting.
• Advanced MS Excel: VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, pivot tables, dashboards.
• Familiarity with GST, e-way bills, invoicing and transporter management.
• Understanding of ESD handling, FIFO, cycle counting and ISO/IATF documentation.
