We are looking for a Desktop Support Engineer to provide day-to-day technical support to
our staff. You will be the first point of contact for hardware, software, and connectivity
issues, ensuring our team can work without disruption. This role is ideal for a fresher or
early-career professional eager to grow in IT support.
Roles & Responsibilities
Hardware Support
• Set up, configure, and maintain desktops, laptops, printers, and peripherals
• Diagnose and repair hardware faults including RAM, HDD, and display issues
• Track and manage IT asset inventory (laptops, monitors, accessories, CCTV)
• Coordinate with vendors for hardware warranty and replacements
Software & OS Support
• Install, configure, and update Windows/macOS operating systems
• Deploy and troubleshoot MS Office, antivirus, and business applications
• Handle OS updates, driver installations, and software licensing
Helpdesk & Ticketing
• Log, prioritize, and resolve L1/L2 support tickets within agreed SLAs
• Provide remote and on-site support to end users across departments
• Escalate unresolved issues to the senior IT team with proper documentation
• Follow up on open tickets and ensure timely closure with user confirmationNetwork & Connectivity
• Troubleshoot LAN, Wi-Fi, and VPN connectivity issues for end users
• Configure network printers, shared drives, and mapped network paths, CCTV.
• Assist in basic switch/router configuration and cable patching when required
• Coordinate with ISP or network team for escalated connectivity problems
User Account Management
• Manage onboarding and offboarding IT setup for new and exiting employees
• Ensure proper access revocation and data handover during offboarding
Documentation
• Maintain detailed records of issues, resolutions, and configurations
• Update the knowledge base with common fixes and troubleshooting guides
• Prepare and submit weekly IT support summary reports.
• Document hardware asset movements, disposals, and warranty records
Requirements
Education
• B.E. / BCA / BSc IT / Diploma in Computer Science or related field
Experience
• 1–3 years in desktop/IT support (freshers with internship experience welcome)
Technical Skills
• Working knowledge of Windows 10/11 and MS Office Suite
• Basic understanding of networking: IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi-Fi troubleshooting
• Familiarity with Active Directory and ticketing tools (e.g. Freshdesk, Jira)
• Experience with remote support tools (AnyDesk, TeamViewer) is a plus
• Basic Knowledge of Hardware (Monitors, Laptops, RAM, CCTV, Wifi Routers)
Soft Skills
• Clear communication and patience when handling non-technical users
• Good problem-solving ability and willingness to learn
• Ability to handle multiple requests and prioritize effectively
