Why this role exists
We build AI vision systems that live inside working factories: inspection stations on conveyor lines, mobile inspection cells, camera arrays across plant floors, edge compute nodes in dusty and hot environments.
The intelligence works. The physical form around it is still being engineered rather than designed. We want someone who thinks about how these machines look, how an operator stands in front of them, and how they survive a shop floor.
What you will own
- Machine and enclosure design. Frames, guarding, panel layout and mounting for special purpose inspection machines and vision stations.
- Camera and edge hardware. Housings, brackets and mounts built for dust, vibration, heat and washdown.
- Operator experience. Where the screen sits, where the hands go, how a reject bin releases, how a shift worker uses it correctly without being told twice.
- Manufacturing handoff. Fabrication drawings, sheet metal and weldment detailing, BOMs, and back and forth with vendors until parts come out right.
- Design language. A consistent look across everything we install, so a Sftwtrs.AI machine is recognisable on any plant floor.
Who we are looking for
- Portfolio showing physical products you have designed and, ideally, built. Prototypes and college projects count.
- SolidWorks, Fusion 360 or Creo. Comfort with sheet metal, weldments and assemblies.
- Rendering ability in KeyShot, Blender or equivalent, for client proposals.
- Willingness to spend days on shop floors in Gurugram, Bawal and beyond, measuring, observing and talking to operators.
- Practical instinct about cost, since much of this work is about getting the same result with less machining and simpler parts.
Nice to have: hands-on fabrication or 3D printing experience, exposure to aluminium extrusion systems, basic understanding of machine vision, lighting or optics.
