Role Description The HVAC Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and detailing HVAC systems for regulated facilities, with a focus on pharma, biotech, and other process-driven projects. Day-to-day tasks include preparing load calculations, equipment sizing, system layouts, ducting and piping designs, and 2D/3D drawings in coordination with other engineering disciplines. The role involves reviewing and interpreting client URS, applicable standards, and project specifications, and translating them into compliant, energy-efficient HVAC designs. The HVAC Design Engineer will also support documentation for design reviews, risk assessments, procurement, and installation, and may assist in site coordination and inspections to ensure alignment between design and execution. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Thane.
Qualifications
- Strong HVAC design skills, including heat load calculations, equipment selection, air distribution design, and cleanroom/controlled environment concepts.
- Experience working with regulated industries (e.g., pharma, biotech, vaccines, API, medical devices) and familiarity with relevant GMP and HVAC-related standards (such as US FDA/cGMP, EU GMP, WHO GMP, ASHRAE, ISO).
- Proficiency in design and drafting tools (such as AutoCAD or similar CAD platforms), and ability to read and develop technical drawings, schematics, and layout plans.
- Ability to prepare and maintain clear, accurate engineering documentation, including design reports, specifications, BOQs, and technical inputs for procurement and construction.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail and a focus on energy-efficient, sustainable, and cost-effective HVAC solutions.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams, vendors, and site personnel.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline; prior HVAC engineering or design experience in regulated projects is highly
