About the Role: We are looking for a hands-on HR Manager to manage HR operations, payroll, talent acquisition, statutory compliance and people management.
The role will independently handle recruitment, payroll, employee lifecycle, compliance and employee relations, while working closely with managers and employees. The candidate should have hands-on experience with HROne or a similar HRMS, strong knowledge of payroll calculations, and a good understanding of labour laws and statutory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Operations & Employee Lifecycle
- Manage the complete employee lifecycle from joining to exit.
- Manage employee confirmation, transfers, promotions, resignations and other employee movements.
- Manage attendance, leave and employee-related HR processes.
- Ensure employee information is accurately maintained in HROne or equivalent HRMS.
- Issue and maintain HR-related letters, documents and employee records.
- Ensure HR policies and processes are implemented consistently across the organisation.
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
- Manage the end-to-end recruitment process across functions and levels.
- Work with functional managers to understand hiring needs and define candidate profiles.
- Drive sourcing through job portals, LinkedIn, referrals, agencies and other channels.
- Screen candidates, conduct initial interviews and coordinate further interview rounds.
- Assess candidates on skills, experience, cultural fit and compensation expectations.
- Manage salary negotiations, offers and offer-to-joining conversion.
- Handle pre-employment documentation, background checks and onboarding.
- Maintain an active hiring pipeline and provide regular recruitment updates to management.
- Track key hiring metrics such as open positions, time-to-hire, source effectiveness and recruitment costs.
Payroll & Statutory Compliance
- Manage the monthly payroll process, ensuring accurate and timely salary processing.
- Independently review payroll calculations covering salary components, attendance, leave, incentives, deductions, recoveries, statutory contributions and Full & Final Settlements.
- Validate payroll inputs, identify discrepancies and ensure corrections before processing.
- Coordinate with Finance for timely salary disbursement.
- Maintain accurate payroll records and ensure strict confidentiality of employee compensation data.
- Manage statutory compliance related to PF, ESI, Professional Tax, TDS, Gratuity, Bonus, Shops & Establishments and other applicable regulations.
- Ensure timely payment of statutory dues, filing of returns and maintenance of required records and registers.
- Coordinate with consultants, auditors and government authorities as required.
- Monitor changes in labour laws and ensure timely implementation of applicable requirements.
People Management & Employee Relations
- Act as the primary HR point of contact for employees and managers.
- Address employee queries, grievances and workplace concerns.
- Support managers in handling performance, attendance, behavioural and disciplinary matters.
- Support performance management and appraisal processes.
- Conduct employee feedback and exit discussions.
- Drive employee engagement and retention initiatives.
- Identify recurring employee or people-related issues and recommend corrective actions.
- Support managers in maintaining a positive, productive and professional work environment.
- Maintain appropriate confidentiality while handling sensitive employee matters.
The candidate should have hands-on experience:
- HROne or a similar HRMS
- Attendance and leave management
- Payroll processing
- Employee documentation
- HR reporting and MIS
- Recruitment tracking
- Strong working knowledge of MS Excel is essential
Preferred Experience
- Experience in travel, tourism, hospitality, aviation, retail, BPO or other service-oriented industries.
- Experience managing a multi-location or branch-based workforce.
- Experience with recruitment, particularly for sales and operations roles.
- Experience handling HR audits, inspections and statutory compliance.
- Experience working closely with business heads and functional managers.
