Summary/Objective
The HR Generalist will play a critical role in supporting Emburse’s growing presence in India, acting as a key liaison between Emburse employees, our local employment partner (PEO) and global People Operations. This role will provide excellent internal customer support to employees and leaders by managing core HR processes and ensuring smooth and efficient operations. The HR Generalist administers day-to-day HR programs, maintains compliance, supports engagement, and strengthens the employee experience through consistency, communication, and collaboration maintaining strong alignment between local execution and global standards.
Essential Functions
Operational Alignment
- Act as the primary liaison between Emburse, the local PEO partner (Summit) and India-based employees, ensuring effective coordination of HR processes and consistent communication.
- Partner closely with the HRBP and local leadership to align on employee needs, business priorities and execution of HR initiatives.
- Coordinate and facilitate HR processes delivered through the PEO (payroll inputs, policy implementation, benefits, etc ), ensuring accuracy and a seamless employee experience.
- Operate effectively within a dual-employment model, adapting solutions and communication to balance global standards with local execution.
- Provide ongoing insights on employee sentiment, operational risks and cultural dynamics to global stakeholders.
- Act as a cultural bridge between India and global teams, supporting alignment in expectations, communication styles and ways of working.
- Identify potential challenges proactively and recommend solutions that align business objectives with local practices and cultural context.
Human Resources Operations
- Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related topics, providing guidance, support and timely resolution of queries, in coordination with the PEO.
- Manage employee relations matters, including conflict resolution investigations, and documentation in partnership with HRBPs.
- Own and improve onboarding processes, ensuring role-specific and function-specific onboarding experiences.
- Support and execute performance management processes.
- Act as a primary point of co-ordination for employees without local reporting lines, ensuring they remain engaged and supported.
- Drive employee engagement and culture initiatives locally, fostering a connected, inclusive and high-performing work environment. Identify gaps in employee experience and proactively design and implement solutions.
- Support employees across multiple functions (engineering, implementation, support, business systems, etc), particularly those working with globally distributed teams without local management.
- Act as an ambassador of Emburse values, promoting a consistent employee experience aligned with global standards.
Compliance
- Ensure all HR practices and processes are compliant with Indian labor laws and regulatory requirements, in coordination with the PEO.
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records, ensuring proper documentation and data integrity.
- Support audits, compliance checks, and reporting requirements as needed.
Education and Experience
Education:
- Required: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, HR, Psychology, Sociology or similar field
Experience:
Preferred: Minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a human resources role in multiple disciplines in SaaS or technology companies.
