JOB PURPOSE :
This role is for a skilled HR Payroll System Analyst. This role will be responsible for maintenance, and optimisation of SAP ECP, ensuring seamless payroll processing and compliance with regulations.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES :
Key Responsibilities
• Act as the SME for SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll (ECP).
• Configure and maintain payroll schemas, rules and system settings where applicable.
• Support quarterly releases, upgrades and regression testing activities.
• Manage payroll related incidents, service requests and problem management activities.
• Support integrations between Employee Central, Payroll, Time, Finance and third-party providers.
• Ensure system security, compliance, audit controls and GDPR requirements are maintained.
• Drive automation and process improvement initiatives across HR and Payroll operations.
• Produce and analyses system and payroll data to support business decision making.
• Maintain system documentation, knowledge articles and operating procedures.
Key Skills & Experience
• Strong SAP SuccessFactors Employee Central Payroll experience.
• HR Systems and Payroll systems expertise.
• Data analysis and reporting capability.
• Stakeholder management and vendor management experience.
• Testing, change management and release management knowledge.
Qualifications
• Relevant HRIS, Payroll or SAP certification desirable.
• Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.
PAYROLL CONFIGURATION & TECHNICAL EXPERTISE
• Extensive experience configuring and maintaining SAP Employee Central Payroll (ECP) across multiple payroll areas and employee populations.
• Strong knowledge of payroll schemas, sub-schemas, Personnel Calculation Rules (PCRs), functions and operations to support complex payroll
requirements.
• Experience creating, configuring and maintaining wage types, symbolic accounts, evaluation classes, processing classes and cumulation classes.
• Ability to analyse and resolve payroll calculation issues through payroll logs, payroll clusters and schema trace analysis.
• Experience configuring payroll periods, control records, payroll areas and payroll calendars.
• Knowledge of gross-to-net calculations, statutory deductions, pensions, benefits, absence processing and retroactive accounting.
• Experience configuring off-cycle payroll processes including bonus payments, corrections, advances and termination payments.
• Strong understanding of retro payroll processing, payroll corrections and replication monitoring between Employee Central and ECP.
• Experience supporting Payroll Control Centre (PCC) configuration, validation rules, policy creation and payroll process monitoring.
• Ability to identify and implement payroll configuration changes arising from legislative, contractual or business requirements.
• Experience configuring posting to finance, symbolic accounts and payroll reconciliation processes.
• Knowledge of Time Management integration and the impact of absences, attendances, overtime and allowances on payroll calculations.
• Experience configuring and troubleshooting custom infotypes, wage type generation and payroll-related master data.
• Strong understanding of payroll result clusters, RT tables, CRT tables and payroll data validation techniques.
• Experience performing root cause analysis on payroll defects and implementing sustainable configuration solutions.
• Knowledge of transport management processes and deployment of payroll configuration between Development, Test and Production environments.
• Experience supporting year-end activities, tax updates and statutory payroll changes.
• Ability to produce functional specifications for payroll enhancements and work closely with ABAP developers on technical solutions.
• Experience conducting unit testing, integration testing, regression testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) for payroll configuration changes.
• Knowledge of SAP Notes application, support packs and payroll legislative updates.
• Strong understanding of payroll audit controls, segregation of duties, GDPR and payroll compliance requirements.
DESIRABLE ADVANCED ECP EXPERIENCE
• Payroll schema design and optimisation.
• Custom PCR development and troubleshooting.
• PCC implementation and configuration.
• BSI Tax Factory knowledge (if applicable).
• Payroll posting and finance integration.
• SuccessFactors Employee Central to ECP replication framework.
• SAP CPI integration monitoring and error resolution.
• Payroll cluster analysis and debugging.
• Data migration and payroll parallel run activities.
• End-to-end payroll process ownership from master data through to posting and reporting.
