About the Company
The HR Generalist – Noida assists in leading and guiding the Human Resources functions for the Noida site, which supports shared services and staff augmentation engagements for IT and software companies. The role provides a broad range of HR services to a highly technical workforce — primarily software engineers, developers, and financial/technical professionals — in addition to supporting functions. The HR Generalist reports to the HR Manager/Site Director and supports the full employee lifecycle by engaging with managers, employees, and client-side counterparts in the United States to provide best practices in all areas of human resources, excluding recruiting but including, but not limited to, employee relations, FMLA/ADA administration (as applicable), benefits administration, compensation administration, legal and statutory compliance, safety, performance management, engagement and retention, and training managers in core HR programs. Given the technical composition of the site’s workforce, the HR Generalist must be comfortable partnering with engineering and technical leaders, understanding technical career paths, and supporting HR needs specific to a shared services environment. The HR Generalist is a business partner focused on ethics and compliance with sound judgment, confidentiality, and discretion in varying situations.
About the Role
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Primarily supports the Noida site’s technical and financial talent, providing guidance to engineering managers and employees on HR issues while ensuring positive employee relations and general administration of HR policies and procedures across the site.
Responsibilities
- Partners with Talent Acquisition and Site Leadership to support onboarding of technical and financial hires and administers policies and procedures for a successful new-hire experience; facilitates New Employee Orientation sessions.
- Administers overall HR programs related to the employee lifecycle including leave management, workplace safety, benefits, compensation, performance management, HRIS, and employee records, ensuring legal and statutory compliance under Indian labor law.
- Supports engineering and technical managers with HR training and development, including performance management, feedback, and career-pathing conversations specific to technical roles.
- Collaborates with global/US-based client counterparts and site leadership on workforce planning, engagement, and retention strategies for technical talent.
- Partners with the Site Director on facilities-related people matters, statutory compliance filings, and audits specific to the Noida site.
- Builds working knowledge of shared services and staff augmentation delivery models to provide contextually relevant HR support to technical teams.
- Supports compensation benchmarking and market intelligence specific to technical/engineering talent to aid retention in a competitive technical talent market.
- Drives employee engagement and retention initiatives tailored to a technical workforce.
- May perform other additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- College degree in HR, Business, Psychology, or a related field strongly preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Human Resources focused on employee relations and administration of multiple HR disciplines, ideally supporting a technical/engineering workforce; HR certifications helpful.
- Business experience in a shared services, ITES, IT/software, or technology services environment strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Indian labor law and statutory compliance (Shops & Establishment, PF, ESI, Gratuity, POSH, etc.), along with general HR practices including compensation and benefits, performance management, HR policy administration, employee recordkeeping/HRIS, and employee engagement.
- Comfortable partnering with engineering and technical leaders, with an understanding of technical career frameworks and compensation structures.
- Problem solver, detail-oriented, with strong organizational skills; adaptable and flexible to manage change while maintaining confidentiality.
- Self-starter, able to work independently while partnering effectively with global HR and site leadership across time zones.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present and deliver training to technical audiences.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and HRIS platforms.
- Ability to flourish in a dynamic, fast-paced shared services environment.
Working Conditions
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to point, handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and ability to adjust focus. Employee is frequently required to sit for extended periods of time. This is for a full time position. Employee must be willing to travel up to 20%.
