Hospital Housekeeping Staff
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and maintain patient rooms, wards, ICU areas, corridors, waiting areas, offices, and washrooms.
- Perform regular sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitization of hospital premises.
- Follow hospital hygiene, sanitation, and infection-control procedures.
- Collect, segregate, and dispose of waste according to hospital guidelines.
- Handle biomedical waste carefully and follow proper color-coded waste segregation procedures.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched surfaces, furniture, doors, and equipment areas.
- Maintain cleanliness around patient beds and assigned areas.
- Assist with cleaning during patient shifting, discharge, and room preparation.
- Refill housekeeping supplies such as disinfectants, tissues, soaps, and other materials when required.
- Report spills, damaged equipment, safety hazards, and maintenance issues to the supervisor.
- Follow PPE and workplace safety guidelines during housekeeping activities.
- Maintain proper hygiene standards in washrooms and common areas.
- Coordinate with nursing, administration, and housekeeping supervisors when required.
- Complete assigned cleaning duties within the scheduled shift.
- Maintain professional behavior and respect patient privacy and confidentiality.
