AVMTL is seeking an experienced and passionate Commercial Cookery Trainer to join our hospitality skills development program in Timor-Leste.
We are looking for an experienced Chef, Culinary Trainer or Hospitality Professional who has strong practical industry knowledge and a passion for teaching and developing people.
SALARY & BENEFITS
Salary: USD $2,000 per month

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Deliver practical Commercial Cookery training
* Demonstrate professional cooking methods and techniques
* Teach knife skills, mise en place and kitchen organisation
* Train students in food safety, hygiene and HACCP
* Teach WHS and safe kitchen practices
* Train students in receiving, storage and temperature control
* Demonstrate correct use of commercial kitchen equipment
* Teach cleaning and sanitation procedures
* Develop kitchen workflow and time-management skills
* Teach portion control, presentation and basic menu planning
* Develop teamwork and professional kitchen communication
* Prepare students for employment in real commercial kitchen environments
IDEAL CANDIDATE
* 5+ years of commercial kitchen/hospitality experience preferred
* Professional Chef experience highly desirable
* Previous training, teaching, mentoring or supervisory experience
* Strong knowledge of Commercial Cookery
* Good understanding of food safety, HACCP and WHS
* Strong practical demonstration skills
* Good communication and leadership ability
* Able to explain technical concepts simply
* Patient and confident working with beginner-level students
* Comfortable working in a multicultural environment
* Willing to relocate to Timor-Leste
QUALIFICATIONS
Relevant qualifications in Commercial Cookery, Culinary Arts, Food Production, Hotel Management, Hospitality Management or Catering are preferred.
A formal trainer qualification is an advantage; however, candidates with strong professional chef experience and demonstrated training ability are encouraged to apply.
