Role Description The Home Cook at 38 Barracks is a full-time, on-site role based in Hauz Khas, responsible for preparing high-quality dishes that align with the restaurant’s concept and standards. Day-to-day tasks include planning and executing menus, handling food preparation and cooking, and ensuring consistent taste, presentation, and portion control. The Home Cook will maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, follow food safety and hygiene protocols, and manage basic inventory such as ingredients and supplies. The role also involves coordinating with service staff, supporting special events or themed menus, and adapting recipes to meet guest preferences and dietary requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong cooking skills with experience in home-style, Indian, and comfort food preparation, including basic baking and grilling.
- Knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards, and kitchen organization, including safe storage and handling of ingredients.
- Ability to plan menus, manage time during peak hours, and handle multiple cooking tasks efficiently.
- Attention to detail in taste, plating, and portion consistency, with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Good communication and teamwork skills to collaborate with kitchen and serving staff in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience in a restaurant, café, catering, or professional kitchen environment is preferred.
- Willingness to work full-time on-site in Hauz Khas, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- High school diploma or equivalent; culinary training or certification is an advantage.
