- Set up, manage, and streamline the highway design process using OpenRoads / MX Roads / Civil 3D, ensuring efficient modelling, accuracy, and quality control.
- Produce key geometric design outputs including plans, profiles, cross‑sections, horizontal/vertical alignments, and prepare earthwork quantity calculations.
- Prepare technical reports, design notes, and documentation required for planning, tender, and construction stages, ensuring clarity and compliance with client and statutory requirements.
- Lead and coordinate with CAD technicians to deliver high‑quality drawings, models, and design packages.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams—structures, drainage, traffic, environmental, and planning—to deliver coordinated, buildable design solutions.
- Engage with local councils, National Highways, contractors, and JV partners to support design reviews, approvals, and technical discussions.

- 5–10 years’ experience in highway design, preferably working on UK-based projects or with UK clients.
- Strong understanding of DMRB, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, and other UK highway and planning standards.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D, Open Roads, MX Roads, and swept‑path analysis tools (e.g., Auto Track, Vehicle Tracking).
- Solid knowledge of geometric design principles, junction design, earthworks, pavement design fundamentals, and highway drainage interfaces.
- Strong report-writing, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to present design solutions clearly.
- Experience coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders, including local authorities and project management consultants.
- Ability to manage design packages independently while ensuring quality, accuracy, and timely delivery.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- Holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (Master’s preferred) with 5–10 years of progressive experience in highway design.
- Able to lead and oversee design packages, guide junior engineers, and ensure high‑quality technical delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills with experience working with UK local councils, National Highways, and clients.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused professional with strong judgement, leadership capabilities, and a collaborative mindset.
