Role Description The Head of Operations – Heavy Fabrication is a full-time, on-site role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area. This role is responsible for overseeing end-to-end operations for heavy fabrication projects, including production planning, workflow optimization, resource allocation, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include monitoring fabrication activities, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and quality teams, and ensuring projects meet timelines, budget targets, and customer specifications. The Head of Operations will lead and develop operations staff, implement process improvements, track performance metrics, and resolve operational issues to maintain high efficiency and productivity. The role also involves collaborating with senior leadership on strategic initiatives, capacity planning, and continuous improvement of heavy fabrication capabilities.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Operations Management skills, including production planning, process optimization, and knowledge of heavy fabrication workflows.
- Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills and Budgeting capabilities to interpret operational data, manage costs, and support decision-making.
- Candidates should possess effective Team Management and Communication skills to lead cross-functional teams, provide clear guidance, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering, production engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree or operations-focused certification is an advantage.
- Significant experience in heavy fabrication, metal structures, or large-scale engineering manufacturing environments, with a track record of managing shop floor operations.
- Knowledge of safety standards, quality management systems, lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methods, and familiarity with relevant industry regulations.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Bengaluru Area, with strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and a focus on meeting customer and project requirements.
