Role Description The Head of Design role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. The Head of Design will lead and manage the design function for facade and architectural systems, overseeing concept development, detailed design, and design reviews across multiple projects. This role will collaborate closely with clients, sales, engineering, manufacturing, and project management teams to translate requirements into innovative, feasible, and cost-effective design solutions. Daily responsibilities include guiding design teams, establishing design standards, ensuring alignment with brand and technical specifications, and maintaining high levels of quality, safety, and compliance. The Head of Design will also mentor team members, drive process improvements, and contribute to strategic decisions related to design direction and new product or system development.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Design Management, including leading multidisciplinary design teams and managing end-to-end design processes.
- Strong Visual Design and Branding skills to ensure consistent, high-quality aesthetics across facade and related architectural solutions.
- Experience in Product Design for architectural systems, glazing solutions, or building components, with focus on functionality, manufacturability, and user experience.
- Background in Design or related spatial design fields, with an understanding of how facades integrate with overall building design.
- Relevant degree in Architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design, or a related discipline; advanced qualifications are an advantage.
- Proficiency with industry-standard design and visualization tools (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, SketchUp, or similar software).
- Strong project management, stakeholder communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Experience in facade engineering or construction industry projects, including knowledge of materials, structural considerations, and building codes, is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work on-site in Mumbai and coordinate with teams across multiple locations and time zones.
