Role Description The Head Chef will oversee the full culinary operations at an on-site facility in Mumbai in a full-time capacity. This role includes planning, designing, and updating menus that meet nutritional, quality, and cost standards appropriate for a large fitness and health focused individuals. The Head Chef will manage daily kitchen activities, including food preparation, cooking, plating, and timely service, while ensuring strict adherence to hygiene, safety, and regulatory requirements. The role involves supervising and training kitchen staff, managing inventory and vendor relationships, and implementing efficient processes to reduce waste and control costs.
Qualifications
- Culinary expertise: Strong skills in menu planning, food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation across diverse cuisines.
- Kitchen operations: Experience managing commercial or institutional kitchens, including inventory control, procurement, and cost management.
- Team leadership: Proven ability to lead, train, and schedule kitchen staff, foster collaboration, and maintain a professional work environment.
- Food safety and compliance: In-depth knowledge of food hygiene standards, kitchen safety practices, and relevant local regulations.
- Customer service and communication: Ability to understand stakeholder needs, respond to feedback, and coordinate effectively with internal teams.
- Qualifications: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or related field; prior experience as Head Chef or Sous Chef in a high-volume setting is preferred.
- Additional strengths: Team lead skills, flexibility to work varying schedules when needed, and experience in Healthy food and in-house ingredients preparations. Willing to be part of Pre-opening activities.
