Job Title: Hardware Design Engineer
Location: On-site (Pune)
Reporting to: Engineering Manager
Platform Proficiency: Jira, Schematic Design (EasyEDA/Altium), LTspice, EVK Environments
Professional Objectives
We are seeking a proactive Associate Hardware Design Engineer to drive the research and development of our next-generation Vision Telematics and ADAS platforms. This role is centered on "Zero-to-One" R&D: conducting deep-dive component research, developing hardware concepts, and performing initial circuit validation. You will serve as a technical catalyst, collaborating with AI, Firmware, and Compliance teams to ensure our designs are cutting-edge and optimized for complex automotive environments.
Core Responsibilities
- Concept Research & Design: Research advanced components (AI processors, camera sensors, memory) and develop circuits for high-performance Vision Telematics and ADAS applications.
- Hardware Prototyping: Build "proof-of-concept" models using Evaluation Kits (EVKs), including processor boards, power supply boards and interface boards, to verify hardware logic before full-scale design.
- In-Depth Troubleshooting: Exercise high analytical skills to debug complex hardware failures and independently propose technical solutions or design modifications.
- Cross-Functional Liaison: Act as the technical point of contact between AI and Firmware teams to translate system requirements into hardware specifications.
- Compliance Support: Understand regulatory test cases (e.g., AIS-140, CE/FCC, CB, E-Mark etc…) and author comprehensive "Test Guides" to assist lab technicians during the certification process.
- Prototyping & Rework: Execute precision soldering, including IC swaps and board modifications, to facilitate rapid hardware iterations in the lab.
Technical Knowledge & Architecture
- Power Supply Design: Strong expertise in power supply design. Familiarity with automotive-specific design requirements (transient protection, load dump, etc.) is a significant advantage.
- Advanced Architecture: Working knowledge of Processor/RAM architectures, MIPI/Analog camera interfaces, and high-speed storage (SD/eMMC).
- Communication & Wireless: Mandatory mastery of UART, I2C, SPI and USB; knowledge of GSM, GNSS, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and NFC for peripheral connectivity.
- Automotive & Industrial: Functional knowledge of CAN bus, RS-485, RS232, K-Line and Ethernet.
- Lab Instrumentation: Essential proficiency with DSOs (Digital Storage Oscilloscopes), Multimeters, and Logic Analyzers for hardware debugging and signal validation.
Candidate Profile
- Experience: 1 to 5 years in hardware R&D or design. You should be excited to work on next-generation technology that merges telematics with AI-driven safety.
- The "Maker" Mindset: A hands-on engineer who enjoys building circuits from scratch and possesses the technical curiosity to master new hardware platforms quickly.
- System-Level Thinker: Able to think independently to bridge the gap between customer requirements, hardware constraints, and firmware logic.
- Collaboration & Communication: Strong technical writing skills to produce test guides and the ability to work under R&D timeline.
- Coding (Added Advantage): Basic familiarity with C/C++ or Python for hardware sanity checks is appreciated but not mandatory.
