Job Title: Head of Department – Electronics Hardware
Location: Pune, Maharashtra
Reporting To: NPD Head
Department: Electronics Hardware
Role Purpose
To lead the Electronics Hardware Engineering function for automotive products, driving technology strategy, product development, engineering excellence, customer engagement, and delivery across Connected Vehicle, Telematics, Instrument Cluster, Body Electronics, EV, Smart Cockpit, Gateway, and ADAS platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Define hardware engineering roadmap, architecture, design standards, and technical governance.
- Lead product development from concept to production.
- Drive expertise in analog/digital hardware, high-speed PCB, power electronics, RF/wireless, EMC/EMI, DFM, DFT, and DFR.
- Guide functional safety and hardware cybersecurity implementation.
Project & Customer Management
- Lead multiple automotive programs and ensure QCD targets.
- Manage resources, risks, technical reviews, and project execution.
- Interface with global OEMs and Tier-1 customers for technical discussions, RFQs, audits, and proposals.
Process, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure compliance with ASPICE, APQP, PPAP, DFMEA/PFMEA, IATF 16949, ISO 26262, and related automotive processes.
- Drive design validation, reliability, change management, and production support.
- Support cybersecurity compliance with ISO/SAE 21434 and UNECE R155.
Technology & Innovation
- Drive technology development in Connected Vehicles, Telematics, EV, SDV, Smart Cockpit, ADAS, and Edge Computing.
- Identify opportunities for reusable platforms, IP creation, and engineering productivity improvements.
People Leadership
- Build and develop high-performing engineering teams.
- Mentor Technical Leads and Architects.
- Drive competency development and succession planning.
Technical Competencies
- Automotive Hardware Design and Product Development Lifecycle.
- Microcontroller/MPU-based hardware, PCB design, power supply, RF, and wireless modules.
- CAN/CAN FD, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, SPI, UART, USB, and high-speed interfaces.
- EMC/EMI, Functional Safety, Cybersecurity, DFMEA, and Design Validation.
- Tools: Altium/Cadence/Mentor, LTSpice, MATLAB/Simulink, and automotive validation tools.
- Knowledge of ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155, ISO 26262, and ASPICE.
- Exposure to AUTOSAR, SDV, UWB, V2X, OTA, and AI/ML applications is an advantage.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Electronics, Electrical, Embedded Systems, or related discipline.
- 15–20+ years of experience in Automotive Electronics Hardware Engineering.
- 8+ years of experience in technical leadership/engineering management.
- Proven experience with global OEM/Tier-1 automotive programs.
