Role Description
The GST Executive / GST Accountant will be responsible for managing day-to-day Goods and Services Tax (GST) compliance and accounting activities in alignment with organizational policies and statutory requirements. This includes preparing and filing GST returns, reconciling GST ledgers, monitoring input tax credit, maintaining accurate tax records, and supporting audits and assessments. The role involves coordination with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure timely documentation, addressing GST-related queries, and contributing to process improvements in tax and finance operations. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong knowledge of GST laws, rules, and regulations, including experience with GST return filing, GST reconciliation, and input tax credit management.
- Candidates should possess core accounting skills, such as general ledger accounting, accounts payable/receivable management, and financial record-keeping.
- Candidates should possess proficiency in tax and accounting software, MS Excel, and ERP systems commonly used for finance and compliance.
- Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills to review data, identify discrepancies, and support audits and statutory reporting.
- Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to work with cross-functional teams, external consultants, and authorities.
- Relevant educational background such as a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related field; professional certifications in taxation or GST are an advantage.
- Prior experience in GST accounting or tax compliance, preferably in FMCG, manufacturing, or retail sectors, will be beneficial.
- Attention to detail, integrity in handling financial data, and the ability to work on-site in Bengaluru on a full-time basis.
