Role Description The GST Executive (Assessment & Scrutiny) is a full-time, on-site role based in Mumbai. The role involves managing GST assessment and scrutiny processes, including preparation and review of GST returns, reconciliation of tax data, and responding to notices from tax authorities. The GST Executive will analyze financial records and transaction data to ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely filings under GST regulations. Responsibilities include coordinating with internal teams, external consultants, and authorities to resolve GST-related queries, mitigate risks, and maintain proper documentation. The role also requires staying updated on changes in GST laws, assisting in implementation of new compliance requirements, and preparing periodic reports for management.
Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of GST laws, rules, and procedures, especially related to assessment and scrutiny.
- Proficiency in accounting and taxation concepts, including indirect tax, reconciliations, and financial documentation.
- Experience working with GST portals and tax compliance software; comfort with MS Excel and other analytical tools.
- Attention to detail, data accuracy, and the ability to review large volumes of financial information systematically.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for correspondence with tax authorities and internal stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced startup environment and meet strict deadlines.
- Relevant educational background such as B.Com, M.Com, CA/CS/ICWA (qualified or pursuing), or a similar finance/tax qualification.
- Prior experience in GST compliance, assessment, or scrutiny with corporates or consulting firms is preferred.
