Role Description The GST Associate will be responsible for assisting with preparation, review, and filing of GST returns, ensuring compliance with applicable GST laws and regulations. This full-time, on-site role based in Bengaluru involves maintaining accurate accounting records, posting and reconciling journal entries, and supporting the preparation of financial statements related to indirect tax matters. The role includes performing GST reconciliations, addressing client queries, coordinating with internal teams for timely data collection, and supporting audits and assessments. The GST Associate will also monitor changes in GST regulations, help implement process improvements, and prepare working papers, reports, and documentation for management and clients.
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of Finance and Accounting principles, including GST concepts and indirect taxation.
- Ability to prepare, interpret, and reconcile Financial Statements in a professional services or corporate environment.
- Proficiency in recording and reviewing Journal Entries (Accounting) with attention to accuracy and compliance.
- Experience working with Accounting Software and related tools for GST compliance, reporting, and data analysis.
- Well-developed Analytical Skills for reviewing transactions, identifying discrepancies, and supporting audits and reconciliations.
- Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline; pursuing or holding professional qualifications (CA/CPA or equivalent) is an advantage.
- Good knowledge of Indian GST laws, rules, and filing procedures; prior experience in GST compliance or tax consulting is preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to work collaboratively in a team, and a commitment to ethical and professional standards.
