Role Description The Gold Appraiser will be responsible for assessing and valuing gold jewelry and bullion through visual inspection, weight measurement, and quality testing. Day-to-day tasks include verifying authenticity and purity, examining craftsmanship, reviewing documentation, and preparing accurate appraisal reports for retail, trade-in, and customer service needs. The role also involves working closely with sales teams to support pricing decisions, explaining valuation outcomes to customers in a clear and respectful manner, and maintaining records in accordance with company standards. This is a full-time, on-site role located in Mumbai, requiring consistent presence in the store environment and collaboration with colleagues across departments.

Qualifications
- Technical expertise in gold appraisal preferably with Fischer XRF, including knowledge of purity standards, hallmarking, testing methods (e.g., acid tests, electronic testers), and industry valuation practices.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills for inspecting jewelry, identifying defects or alterations, and ensuring accuracy in measurements and documentation.
- Customer service and communication skills to clearly explain appraisal results, handle queries professionally, and support a luxury retail client experience.
- Basic numeracy and financial understanding to calculate values, margins, and pricing in line with market rates and company policies.
- Integrity and ethical judgment, with a commitment to transparency, fairness, and adherence to regulatory and company guidelines.
- Ability to work on-site in a busy retail environment, collaborate with sales and management teams, and manage time efficiently.
- Prior experience in jewelry or precious metals appraisal, retail jewelry, or a related luxury segment is highly beneficial.
- Relevant training or certification in gemology, jewelry appraisal, or precious metals (such as courses from recognized institutes) is an advantage.
