GM – Sales (Processed Fabric Business)

Key Responsibilities
Business Development
- Develop and implement the sales strategy for the Processed Fabric Business.
- Identify new business opportunities in domestic and export markets.
- Build a strong customer base comprising garment manufacturers, exporters, buying houses, brands, and fabric traders.
- Expand VTM's processed fabric business by converting grey fabric production into value-added processed fabric sales.
Sales & Marketing
- Achieve monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets.
- Develop pricing strategies aligned with market trends and profitability objectives.
- Maintain strong relationships with existing customers while acquiring new business.
- Conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer requirements, and competitor activities.
Processing Coordination
- Coordinate with approved processing houses/job workers for dyeing, printing, finishing, and other value-added processes.
- Ensure timely processing and delivery of fabrics as per customer specifications.
- Work closely with Production, Planning, Quality Assurance, and Logistics teams to ensure seamless execution of customer orders.
- Monitor processing quality, lead time, and cost optimization.
Customer Relationship Management
- Handle customer inquiries, quotations, negotiations, and commercial discussions.
- Resolve customer complaints and quality concerns promptly.
- Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction through timely communication and service.
Export Business Development
- Explore opportunities in international markets for processed fabrics.
- Develop relationships with overseas buyers, buying agencies, and export houses.
- Participate in international exhibitions, trade fairs, and buyer meetings.
- Coordinate export documentation and shipment requirements with the relevant departments.
Strategic Planning
- Prepare annual business plans, sales forecasts, and budgets.
- Analyze sales performance and submit periodic MIS reports to management.
- Recommend new product developments based on market demand.
- Drive profitability through effective pricing, product mix, and market expansion strategies.
Cross-Functional Coordination
- Liaise with Production, Planning, Procurement, Quality, Finance, and Logistics departments to ensure smooth execution of customer orders.
- Coordinate with processing vendors to ensure compliance with quality, delivery, and commercial commitments.
Educational Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree in Textile Technology, Textile Engineering, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related discipline.
- MBA in Marketing will be an added advantage.
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in the textile industry, with significant exposure to processed fabric sales.
- Experience working with reputed textile mills or leading textile organizations is essential.
- Proven track record in domestic and/or export fabric marketing.
Required Knowledge & Skills
- Strong knowledge of woven processed fabrics, including dyeing, printing, finishing, and value-added textile processes.
- Thorough understanding of grey fabric conversion into processed fabrics.
- Hands-on experience coordinating with textile processing job workers.
- Strong understanding of domestic and export textile markets.
- Knowledge of international buyer requirements and quality standards.
- Excellent commercial negotiation and business development skills.
- Strong analytical, communication, and leadership abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and ERP systems.
Preferred Candidate Profile
- Well connected within the textile and apparel industry.
- Established network with processing houses, garment exporters, buying houses, brands, and fabric distributors.
- Exposure to export markets and international business development will be highly preferred.
- Self-driven, result-oriented professional with strong strategic and execution capabilities.
