Sales & Business Development Manager – Elevators
Job Description
- Develop and implement annual sales and business development strategies for elevators, modernization, AMC, maintenance, spare parts, and service contracts.
- Set and achieve sales targets for new elevator installations, modernization, AMC, and maintenance services.
- Identify new markets, customers, dealers, builders, consultants, contractors, and project opportunities.
- Generate new business through direct sales, channel partners, dealers, and strategic relationships.
- Monitor the complete sales pipeline, order bookings, revenue, profitability, and order conversion.
- Develop strong relationships with builders, developers, architects, consultants, contractors, and government organizations.
- Track residential, commercial, industrial, hospital, hotel, and infrastructure projects.
- Ensure timely preparation and submission of technical and commercial quotations.
- Participate in customer negotiations and finalize major elevator orders.
- Understand project specifications and recommend suitable elevator solutions based on customer requirements.
- Lead and motivate the sales and marketing team to achieve individual and regional targets.
- Set individual sales targets and regularly review team performance through meetings and MIS reports.
- Train team members on elevator products, pricing, negotiation, and customer handling.
- Recruit, develop, and mentor sales personnel whenever required.
- Develop marketing plans to increase company visibility, customer reach, and market share.
- Manage exhibitions, product launches, dealer meets, customer events, and promotional activities.
- Develop presentations, brochures, marketing materials, digital campaigns, and corporate communications.
- Study competitor products, pricing, technology, service quality, and market positioning.
- Prepare and approve commercial strategies for important projects.
- Review quotations, discounts, margins, payment terms, and overall project profitability.
- Negotiate effectively with customers, consultants, contractors, dealers, and suppliers.
- Ensure orders are secured at commercially viable margins.
- Maintain strong relationships with key customers and major accounts.
- Handle escalated customer complaints and commercial issues.
- Develop long-term customer relationships to generate repeat business and referrals.
- Conduct customer satisfaction reviews and address service-related concerns.
- Appoint and manage dealers, distributors, and channel partners wherever applicable.
- Set dealer targets and monitor channel partner performance.
- Develop incentive schemes and channel sales strategies.
- Ensure proper coordination between dealers and the company's installation and service teams.
- Track competitors such as KONE, Otis, Schindler, TK Elevator, Johnson, Mitsubishi, and local/regional elevator companies.
- Analyze competitor pricing, product features, technology, service quality, and market share.
- Identify opportunities for new products, services, and emerging market segments.
- Coordinate with engineering, estimation, production, procurement, installation, commissioning, and service departments.
- Ensure sales commitments are technically and operationally achievable.
- Support project teams in resolving customer-related issues.
- Ensure smooth handover of projects from sales to project execution teams.
- Take responsibility for overall sales revenue and gross margins.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual sales forecasts.
- Monitor pending quotations, order conversion, and sales pipeline.
- Control sales-related expenses and improve overall sales efficiency.
- Increase business contribution from modernization, AMC, spare parts, and service contracts.
