Role Description The Furniture Supervisor role at Home Centre India is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role involves overseeing the furniture section, ensuring proper display, stock availability, and adherence to visual merchandising standards. The Furniture Supervisor coordinates with sales associates to provide product knowledge, support upselling and cross-selling, and maintain high customer service standards on the shop floor. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory, supervising daily operations, assisting with store layouts and promotional setups, and ensuring that safety and quality guidelines are followed. The role also involves training and guiding team members, addressing customer queries and concerns, and collaborating with store management to achieve sales and productivity targets.
Qualifications
- Experience in furniture or home retail, with strong knowledge of furniture products, materials, and basic design and layout principles.
- Skills in team supervision, including assigning tasks, guiding staff, and supporting performance and productivity on the sales floor.
- Customer service abilities, such as engaging with shoppers, understanding needs, offering product recommendations, and resolving issues professionally.
- Operational and merchandising skills, including inventory checking, stock replenishment, visual merchandising, and maintaining store presentation standards.
- Basic numerical and organizational skills to support sales tracking, reporting, and coordination with store management.
- Strong communication skills in English and local languages, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced retail environment.
- Prior experience in a supervisory or senior sales role in retail is preferred; familiarity with furniture or home décor is an advantage.
- Minimum high school diploma; a degree or certification in retail, commerce, or related fields is beneficial.
