Role Description This is a full-time remote role for a Freight Broker. The Freight Broker will source and secure freight from shippers, negotiate rates with carriers, and manage the end-to-end lifecycle of each load from booking through delivery. Daily responsibilities include building and maintaining relationships with shippers and carriers, coordinating dispatch and tracking, resolving service issues, and ensuring compliance with company and industry standards. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation, updating transportation management systems, and collaborating with team members to optimize routes and improve service performance. The individual in this role is expected to contribute to a customer-focused, results-driven environment.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, with experience arranging and managing shipments between shippers and carriers.
- Strong Customer Service and Account Management abilities, including relationship building, issue resolution, and retention of key accounts.
- Experience with Dispatching, including coordinating pickups and deliveries, monitoring load status, and communicating updates to stakeholders.
- Solid understanding of transportation, logistics, and supply chain fundamentals; prior 3PL or carrier experience is beneficial.
- Proficiency with transportation management systems, spreadsheets, and common office software; ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills, with strong negotiation and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment, manage multiple loads and priorities, and make sound time-sensitive decisions.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in business, logistics, or a related field is a plus.
