Company Description
Barista Kraft Academy (BKA), a part of Grape Xpectations® Global Beverage Academy, is a professional coffee education and training institute dedicated to developing skilled baristas, coffee professionals, café entrepreneurs, and hospitality teams.
Built on a foundation of international best practices and hands-on learning, BKA bridges the gap between technical coffee knowledge and the practical demands of the coffee and hospitality industry. Its structured training programmes span beginner to advanced levels, covering the entire coffee journey—from cultivation and processing to brewing, sensory evaluation, and beverage creation.
Learners develop practical expertise in espresso preparation, manual brewing, milk texturing, latte art, coffee sensory evaluation, beverage innovation, equipment operation and maintenance, café workflow, and customer service.
Combining technical excellence, practical application, and industry relevance, Barista Kraft Academy aims to equip learners with the skills and confidence to thrive in today’s evolving coffee industry, backed by the educational ethos and beverage expertise of Grape Xpectations® Global Beverage Academy.
Role Description
We are looking for a committed, hands-on coffee professional to take ownership of its day-to-day operations and help build the academy from the ground up.
This is a founding role that combines strong barista skills, operational responsibility, training support, and centre management. The successful candidate will play a key role in establishing the academy’s standards, systems, and learning environment while ensuring that every practical session, workshop, and learner interaction reflects professionalism and a high standard of coffee education.
Key Responsibilities
- Coffee Craft & Practical Training: Demonstrate excellence in espresso preparation, manual brewing, milk texturing, latte art, and coffee equipment handling. Lead by example during practical sessions and support the delivery of hands-on training.
- Centre Management: Take ownership of daily centre operations, training schedules, equipment readiness, inventory, consumables, and overall housekeeping.
- Learner Experience: Support trainers, guide trainees during practical sessions, address learner queries, and maintain a professional, welcoming environment.
- Standards & Quality: Ensure consistent beverage quality, equipment maintenance, hygiene, safety, and efficient workflow across all training activities.
- Events & Industry Engagement: Assist with workshops, demonstrations, special programmes, and industry-facing events.
- Building the Academy: Help establish operating procedures, improve processes, and contribute to the growth and reputation of Barista Kraft Academy.
The Role & The Commitment:
Let’s be clear: this is not a conventional 9-to-5 job.
Building a professional academy from the ground up requires ownership, flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to go beyond a fixed job description when the situation demands it. Training schedules, workshops, events, and operational requirements may call for work outside conventional hours.
If you are looking for a strictly defined 9-to-5 role, with responsibilities limited to clocking in and clocking out, this may not be your cup of tea.
We are looking for someone who takes pride in their craft, enjoys responsibility, solves problems without waiting to be told, and wants to be part of building something meaningful in the world of coffee education.
This is an opportunity to help shape an academy, establish its standards, and grow with it from day one.
Qualifications
- Strong barista skills, including espresso preparation, manual brewing, milk texturing, and basic latte art.
- Excellent customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills for engaging with students, visitors, and partners.
- Experience with food preparation and understanding of café hygiene, safety, and quality standards.
- Ability to supervise day-to-day centre operations, including scheduling, inventory management, and basic administrative tasks.
- Prior experience in a café, coffee training environment, or hospitality setting; leadership or supervisory experience is an advantage.
- Capacity to work on-site full time in Delhi, with flexibility for workshops and events as needed.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and commitment to creating an inclusive, respectful learning environment.
- Relevant certifications in barista skills, hospitality, or food safety are beneficial but not mandatory.
Compensation & Growth
A competitive salary, complemented by a performance-linked revenue-sharing opportunity tied to student admissions. We believe that those who contribute meaningfully to building and growing the academy should share in its success. This is an opportunity to combine professional growth with a tangible stake in the academy’s growth journey.
If you want to be part of something bigger than a job, this is your opportunity. Come be part of building an academy, shaping future coffee professionals, raising the bar for coffee education in India, and creating something that lasts. We’re not just looking for someone to run a centre; we’re looking for someone who wants to help build a legacy. If that excites you, we’d like to hear from you.
